Zhob Operation: Minister admires valour of forces against terrorists

ISLAMABAD, Oct 9 (APP): Caretaker Federal Interior Minister Sarfraz Bugti on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Major Ali Raza and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed during the operation against terrorists in Zhob.

He admired the valour of brave soldiers in the operation with the families of the martyrs and shared their grief.

Major Ali Raza and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed were martyred while fighting bravely against terrorists, said the minister in his message while paying respects to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country.

The minister said that the Pakistani nation owes the sacrifices of martyrs, adding brave soldiers of security forces killed five terrorists.

He said that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Army and terrorism must be eradicated at any cost.

Good films play crucial role in transforming society: Solangi

ISLAMABAD, Oct 09 (APP): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi on Monday highlighted the pivotal role played by good films in promoting tolerance and civility within the society.

Addressing the audience at the “Naqash Digital Film Festival 2023”, he said films had played a historical role in fostering positive values in the society including ethics, morality, empathy, and above all, a deep sense of humanity.

The minister lauded the Fatima Jinnah University for organizing such a “great event” in collaboration with international partners.

“Good films are like good parents that nurture you and teach you morals and ethics. They help you become good human beings because good films teach you empathy, care for humanity, and how to resolve conflicts,” he added.

Solangi also acknowledged the transformative impact of digital technology in empowering the younger generation with filmmaking skills.

He congratulated the winners and encouraged the youth to remain determined in their pursuits while keeping their “critical faculties” alive.

Solangi highlighted the challenges faced by the society, including intolerance, xenophobia, and extremism, urging the youth to cultivate tolerance for diverse perspectives.

Speaking about the critical phase Pakistan was undergoing, Solangi called for unity and collective efforts to overcome societal challenges.

He expressed gratitude to Fatima Jinnah University and international partners for organizing the festival and assured the young people of the government’s support.

“Let me assure you as the Minister for Information that our doors are open for the young people. We will do our best until our last day in office,” he affirmed.

Major among soldier embraced martyrdom while five terrorists killed in Zhob operation

RAWALPINDI, Oct 09 (APP): A Pakistan Army officer among a soldier embraced martyrdom while leading an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted in Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan that resulted in the elimination of five terrorists amid intense fire exchange.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday, “On night [of] October 8/9, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area Sambaza, Zhob District, on reported presence of terrorists.”

During the conduct of operation, it said the terrorists were surrounded and after an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were sent to hell.

The martyrs were identified as Major Syed Ali Raza Shah (Age 31 years, resident of Sargodha District), who was leading the operation from the front, and Havaldar Nisar Ahmed (Age 38 years, resident of Vehari District), having fought gallantly, paid the ultimate sacrifice and embraced, Shahadat, in ensuing exchange of fire.

“Security forces of Pakistan are indebted & proud of our brave men and pay homage to their chivalry and sacrifices for the motherland, which further strengthens our resolve to uproot the menace of terrorism from the country,” the ISPR said.

However, sanitization of the surrounding areas was being conducted to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
