PESHAWAR, Mar 31 (APP):A man was shot dead by unidentified assailants shortly after his release from Kohat Jail on Tuesday, police and hospital sources said.
The deceased, identified as Ghulam Rasool, a resident of Gambat, was reportedly targeted moments after stepping out of the prison.
He sustained critical bullet injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, police reached the spot, secured the area, and started collecting evidence. A search operation was also launched in the surrounding locality to trace the attackers.
Officials said the motive behind the killing was not immediately known, adding that an investigation was underway to ascertain the facts and bring those responsible to justice.
