Lahore, various parts of Punjab receive first winter rain

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (APP): Lahore along with various parts of the Punjab province received first winter rain which provided much needed relief from the dry chilly weather on Thursday. Twin city of Rawalpindi and Islamabad also had light drizzle on Wednesday late evening.
According to a private news channel, temperatures dropped even further as the wednesday night showers increased the chill in the air. The dense blanket of fog that had blanketed the city earlier also disappeared due to the drizzle.

People of Punjab were suffering from cough, cold and sore throat due to the dry and cold weather, however, the first rain of the winter season would provide relief to the patients.

According to the Metrological Department, the minimum temperature in the provincial capital was expected to be 12øC while a maximum temperature of 23øC. Further light drizzles were also expected as the storm clouds loom over the city, weather Pundits predicted.

On the other hand, Quetta and Ziarat saw the winter season’s first snowfall. The snow covered hilltops and mountains, much to the delight of its citizens and tourists.

The Metrological Department stated that rain with snowfall over the hills was expected at isolated places of the country while dry weather to continue elsewhere in the country during the next 24 hours.
