ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): As two years passed since India’s illegal revocation of the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, solidarity rallies were held across the country and in Azad Kashmir on Thursday to show support to the Kashmiris.
The capital’s Kashmir solidarity rally saw the Pakistani and Kashmiri flags side by side, along with placards showing ‘I am Kashmiri too’.
President Dr Arif Alvi led the Kashmir solidarity rally, where he warned India ‘not to play with fire’ by oppressing Kashmiris.
The rally originated from the Foreign Office and culminated at the Parliament House, led by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood.
The Federal ministers, parliamentarians and representatives of minorities participated in the rally.
The strong participation of youth added an enthusiasm in the rally, where pledges were made to stand by the brothers and sisters of Kashmir in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
In Muzaffarabad, President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan and Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan Niazi led a rally held in connection with Youm-e-Istehsal.
The people in the Jammu & Kashmir Liberation Cell rally vowed support to Kashmiris facing atrocities at the hands of Indian forces in the Occupied Kashmir.
In Karachi, the solidarity rally led by Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah was joined by provincial ministers, Corps Commander Karachi Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum, Chief Secretary Mumtaz Shah, and senior officials of police and rangers.
In Lahore, the staff of the Lahore Museum wore black armbands as condemnation against India’s illegal acts of August 5, 2019.
