Women’s youth tennis training camp kicks off

ISLAMABAD, Jul 10 (APP): In collaboration with Serena Hotels and the Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF), the Pakistan Women’s Tennis Association (PWTA) has launched a 10-day Free Women’s Youth Tennis Training Camp here at the PTF Tennis Complex.
A total of 26 young girls from Islamabad and Rawalpindi are participating in the camp, which aims to promote and develop women’s tennis in Pakistan. The training sessions are being led by some of the country’s top coaches, including Mahboob Khan, Sara Mansoor, Assistant Coaches Waqar Ahmad and Husnain Mehmood, said a press release.
The opening ceremony was graced by Ms. Zaira Ahmad Zaka, Secretary General-PWTA, Ms. Sarah Ibrahim Khan, Treasurer-PWTA, officials from Serena Hotels, PTF representatives, and a large number of parents.
President-PTF, Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Serena Hotels management, particularly Aziz Bolani, CEO of Serena Hotels, for their continued support through the Serena Hotels Sports Diplomacy Initiative for the growth and development of tennis in Pakistan. He said that such initiatives are vital for identifying young talent and play a significant role in the growth and future of women’s tennis in Pakistan.
Ms. Asma Khawar Khawaja, President- PWTA, also thanked the Serena Hotels management for supporting this remarkable initiative. She added that, in collaboration with Serena Hotels, PWTA aims to expand this program to other cities across Pakistan in the near future.
Col. (R) Ziauddin Tufail, Secretary General PTF, also thanked Serena Hotels for their ongoing commitment and valuable contributions to the development of tennis in the country.
