CM inaugurates BRT Nasir Bagh route

PESHAWAR, Jun 05 (APP): Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, will inaugurate the BRT Nasir Bagh Route (DR-14) on Tuesda.
The route will run from Board Bazaar to DHA via Regi Model Town, covering a total distance of 18 kilometers with 16 stops. These stops include Islamic College, Board Bazaar, Canal Bank Colony, Naseer Teaching Hospital, PSO Stop, Police Colony, Askari 6 Phase 2, Askari 6 Phase 1, Mian Khan Ghari, Badizi, Regi Model Town, Zone 3 Ground, Government Girls Primary School, Masjid Hamza, Ladies Park, and DHA. The service will operate from 6 am to 8 pm.
With the launch of this route, the total number of BRT routes will increase to 16. Residents of Board, DHA, Regi, Police Colony, and Canal Town areas will benefit from this route.
 Chief Minister will inaugurate the Central Park in Regi Model Town.

Gold rates dip Rs 400 per tola to Rs 240,600

ISLAMABAD, Jun 5 (APP):The per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 400 and was sold at Rs  240,600 on Wednesday compared to its sale at Rs 241,000 on the last trading day.
The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also decreased by Rs 343 to Rs 206,276 from Rs  206,619 whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold went up to Rs 189,086 from Rs189,400, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
The price of per tola silver decreased by Rs.20 to Rs2,800 whereas that of ten-gram silver went down by Rs.17.1 to Rs.2400.54.
The price of gold in the international market decreased by $4 to $2,332 from $2,336, the Association reported.

Boy killed in armed clash between two groups

FAISALABAD, Jun 05 (APP):An armed clash between two groups left a child dead in Sadar police area on Wednesday.
Police said that an armed clash took place between two groups living in street No 11, Elahiabad area. As a result, a passerby named Ameer Hamza (10), was killed on-the-spot. Police removed the body to mortuary for postmortem. Police have collected forensic evidence and started legal action.
Meanwhile, the women police arrested one Adeel Ashraf for teasing a woman and registered a case against him.
Separately, Mamukanjan police registered a case against a man allegedly involved in throwing acid on his wife and brother-in-law in Ghousia Colony.
According to details, the accused Yasin, a resident of Chak No 522-GB, on failure of reconciliation with his wife Farzana Bibi, threw acid on her and brother-in-law Sadam Hussain. They were rushed to a local hospital.

AIIB, Pakistan discuss strategic partnership, future development plans

ISLAMABAD, Jun 5 (APP): Vice President and Corporate Secretary of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Ludger Schuknecht on Wednesday met with the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema and discussed strategic partnership and future development plans.
The Secretary and Special Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs were also present attended the meeting.
The minister expressed gratitude for the valuable support and assistance provided to the people of Pakistan.
He commended AIIB’s crucial role in delivering assistance to Pakistan, especially during the 2022 floods, and briefed him on the country’s improving economic outlook.
The Vice President of AIIB expressed his gratitude to the Minister for the strong partnership and collaboration on development issues such as poverty reduction, climate change, financing instruments, and the advancement of SDGs.
He agreed to enhance cooperation between the Government of Pakistan and AIIB in the aforementioned areas.
The minister appreciated AIIB’s favorable consideration of new project proposals from Pakistan in the infrastructure sector and expressed hope for continued collaboration in funding and implementing vital projects.
The minister also lauded AIIB’s policy initiatives for new financing efforts related to the Bank’s Climate Action Plan, assuring that Pakistan will support such initiatives, given its status as one of the most climate-vulnerable countries.

The highest maximum temperature 43 centigrade and the lowest minimum 31 centigrade were recorded during last 24 hours.

Over 500K benefit from Prophet’s Mosque transport in first quarter of 2024

According to Saudi Press Agency, the General Authority for the Care of the Two Holy Mosques provides transportation via golf carts, electric carts, and wheelchairs for pilgrims and Umrah performers at the Prophet’s Mosque courtyards.

Police nab 594 POs, 177 court absconders in May

FAISALABAD, Jun 05 (APP):The district police nabbed 594 proclaimed offenders and 177 court absconders during the month of May.
A police spokesperson said here on Wednesday that 470 cases of illegal weapons were registered, while 464 accused were arrested during the last month.
Police recovered 417 pistols, 24 rifles, 13 guns, 15 Kalashnikovs, and 1109 bullets/cartridges.
During crackdown against drug peddlers, 453 cases were registered while 439 accused were apprehended. Police seized over 61kg hashish, 3.3kg opium, 1.4kg ice heroin, 280 lehan, and 4718 liters liquor.
The district police smashed 10 criminal gangs and arrested their 25 members,in addition to recovering 36 motorcycles, 3 cell phones, and looted booty worth about Rs 4.4 million from their possession.

Matiari: Arrangements Finalized for 1st mango and handicrafts expo 2024

HYDERABAD, Jun 05 (APP): The District Administration has finalized the arrangements for the 1st Mango and Handicrafts Expo 2024, scheduled to take place on June 8-9, 2024, at H.T Sorley hall, Bhitshah.

A high-level meeting, presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Matiari Muhammad Yousuf Shaikh, reviewed the preparations for the event. The meeting was informed that MNA Makhdoom Jameel uz Zaman and Sindh Minister for Rehabilitation Makhdoom Mehboob Zaman will grace the inauguration ceremony as chief guests. A seminar will also be held, in which renowned agriculture scientists and researchers will deliver presentations.

The Deputy Commissioner Shaikh directed all departments to expedite their efforts and ensure complete arrangements a day before the event. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Noor Ahmad Khahro, DHO Dr. Pir Ghulam Hussain, Additional Director Agriculture Zameer Surhyo, Additional Director Social Welfare Rafiq Jamali, all Assistant Commissioners and other officers.

According to an official handout, the purpose of the expo was to promote the region’s famous mangoes and handicrafts, enabling associated farmers and artisans to earn a good profit and uplift economic activities.

300 liters mineral water,286 liters

SARGODHA, Jun 05 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) team during it’s ongoing crackdown launched against adulteration recovered 300 liters of substandard mineral water,286 liters of unhygienic juice from a factory located at Khanki Khel in Mianwali, here on Wednesday.
According to PFA press release,the PFA team raided the factory located in where substandard mineral water and juice was being prepared.
The team recovered the unhygienic mineral water and juice. The action was taken on improper labelling, misbranding, and use of prohibited ingredients and poor management.
Juices made with substandard ingredients in packaging similar to well-known brands were being sold in the market at cheaper rates,he said.
Juices and mineral water were sent to food lab for further analysis.
A case was registered against the accused over adulteration.
