ECP notifies DO, RO, ARO for bye-election NA-171

ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday appointed Districts Returning Officer (DO), Returning Officer (RO) and Assistant Returning Officer (ARO) for holding bye-election to fill the vacant seat of NA-171 Rahim Yar Khan-III.
According to a notification, Khurram Pervaiz, Deputy Commission Rahim Yar Khan is appointed as DO, Ahmed Raza Butta, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) as RO and Waqas Zafar, Assistant Commissioner as ARO.
The NA-171 seat has become vacant due to death of MNA, Mumtaz Mustafa.
Polling would be held on September 12 while the candidates could file their nomination papers with RO from August 15 to 17.

Tax money to be spent on mass public welfare projects in AJK: PM Anwar-ul-Haq

MIRPUR, Aug 08 (APP): Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Chudhary Anwar ul Haq Thursday said that all resources would be utilized to fulfill the mission of serving people and providing them with basic amenities of life.

He said this while speaking to a representative delegation from Mang-Sudhnoti that called on him under the leadership of Minister for TEVTA Sardar Amir Altaf Khan in the state metropolis.

The delegation was comprised of Maulana Muhammad Saeed Khan, former chairman Sardar Tanveer Khadim, district councilor Sardar Iftikhar, district councilor Sardar Shaukat Ali, Sardar Mumtaz Hussain, Sardar Zulfikar Hussain, Maulana Hafeezur Rahman, Sardar Maruf Hussain, Sardar Rashid Kabir, and Maulana Masood Saeed.

Speaking on the occasion, the PM said that tax money would be spent on public welfare in a transparent manner. He said that every citizen of the state has an important role and responsibility to strengthen the state’s system.

The PM said that the government would not allow anyone to weaken the system or spread anarchy under the garb of rights.

He said that people need to realize that the atmosphere of chaos and anarchy in the state serves none but those who don’t want peace and stability in the liberated territory.

Speaking to the delegation, Prime Minister Haq said that providing education, health, employment, and other facilities to the masses was the primary responsibility of the government, which he said would be fulfilled despite all odds.

The visiting delegation paid tribute to the Prime Minister for his people-friendly policies and his commitment to people’s welfare.

Meanwhile, another delegation from Dhirkot, led by former advisor Raja Mubasher Ejaz, called on Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq at the Prime Minister’s Secretariat.

The delegation was comprised of Raja Muhammad Saud, Raja Zahoor Ahmad, Raja Abid Ali Abid, Nair Ashraf, Raja Idris, and Sarim Farooq.

PTI founder promotes anarchy and division in country: Rana Sana

ISLAMABAD, Aug 8 (APP):Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political and Public Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder was the promoter of anarchy and division in Pakistan.
Talking to a private news channel, he said that PTI founder used every tactics over the past 8-10 years to incite violence and foster division in the country.
He stated that PTI founder continues to pursue an agenda of sedition and stubbornness.
He said that PTI receives support from anti-national forces aimed at spreading misinformation and discord in the country.
He condemned the 9th May attacks on memorials and installations dedicated to martyrs, were shameful and deserving of punishment.

PFA cracks down on milk adulteration in Attock

ATTOCK, Aug 08 (APP):Punjab Food Authority (PFA) seized and discarded over 1,000 liters of contaminated milk in Pindigheb, Attock, on Thursday.
The operation, part of PFA’s ongoing crackdown, inspected 18 vehicles carrying 2,500 liters of milk and imposed fines of Rs 52,000 on suppliers.
Deputy Director Mehtab Khan revealed that screening tests revealed subpar lactometer readings, low natural fat content, and adulteration, prompting the swift action.
The PFA’s efforts align with the government’s Healthy Punjab Mission, aiming to eradicate milk adulteration and ensure a safer food supply.

Inaugural meeting of Young Parliamentarians Forum held

ISLAMABAD, Aug 08 (APP):The inaugural meeting of the Young Parliamentarians Forum (YPF) was held on Thursday, presided over by Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, President of YPF, and co-chaired by Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program (PMYP).
In his inaugural address, Chairman PMYP’s Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan provided an in-depth overview of the PMYP and explained the core components of the program, which were structured around the “4E’s”: Education, Employment, Engagement, and Environment.
He said that these four pillars were the focus of the ongoing youth-focused initiatives across the country.
Rana Mashhood in his keynote address said that Punjab was the pioneer province in developing a comprehensive Youth Policy in 2011 to empower youth, adding the Prime Minister’s Talent Program (PMTP) was initiated in 2013 during his tenure as the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly, further solidifying his commitment to youth development.
The Chairman highlighted several existing and upcoming initiatives under the PMYP including, PM Skill Development Programs (NAVTTC), PM Youth Laptop Scheme, Pakistan Education Endowment Fund, Youth Business and Agriculture Loan Scheme, PM Youth Internship Program, National Innovation Award, setting up of the PM National Youth Council, PM National Volunteer Corps, PM Digital Youth Hub, PM Talent Hunt, Youth Sports League, PM Sports Academies, Green Energy Solarization and PM Green Youth Movement to empower the future generation.
The Chairman PMYP also highlighted Pakistan’s leadership role on the international with the upcoming chairmanship of the 10th Commonwealth Youth Ministers meeting.
Moreover, he informed the meeting that Pakistan is preparing to host the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in 2026, marking another milestone in its commitment to global youth collaboration.
Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, President of YPF, on the occasion, endorsed the initiatives outlined by the PMYP and expressed her commitment to facilitating and promoting these programs across all relevant platforms, ensuring that the objectives of youth empowerment are achieved effectively.
The meeting was also attended by other members of the YPF Board.
