Mohsin Naqvi pays homage to security personnels martyred in South Waziristan

ISLAMABAD, Aug 14 (APP):Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has paid homage to the four security personnels who were martyred in firing exchange with the khwarij in South Waziristan.
He expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs.
Mohsin Naqvi said that Havaldar Nisar Hussain, Naik Rashid Gul, Naik Irfan Ullah Khan, and Sepoy Usman achieved the highest rank of martyrdom.
He said, “The security personnels who foiled the evil designs of terrorists are our heroes.”
He further stated, “The sacrifices of the security personnel who laid down their precious lives for the peace of the beloved country on Independence Day will never be forgotten.”

Kashmiris to observe India’s Independence Day as black day

MIRPUR-AJK, Aug 14 (APP):Kashmiris on both sides of the Line of Control and around the world will observe India’s Independence Day on August 15 as a Black Day, protesting against India’s unlawful occupation of their homeland.
According to APP Correspondent, the observance is a yearly tradition, condemning India’s denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and its ongoing state terrorism in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Anti-India rallies and protest demonstrations will be held in all major cities and towns with participants wearing black bands and hoisting black flags.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, rallies will be staged in all nine district headquarters, including Muzafferabad, to express severe hatred against Indian imperialism.
The protest is against India’s revocation of Jammu and Kashmir’s special status on August 5, 2019 and its ongoing human rights abuses in the occupied state.
A major protest rally will be held in Mirpur, organized by the National Events Organizing Committee and the District Administration. A large number of people are expected to attend, reiterating their hatred against India’s occupation and demanding their right to self-determination.

Bazai vows to remember sacrifices rendered for creating Pakistan

QUETTA, Aug 14 (APP):Former Deputy Attorney General, senior lawyer Ameenuddin Bazai, said on Wednesday that the joy we received on 14 August is something we and our future generations must remember for a lifetime.
While addressing a ceremony held in Kuchlak on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day, he said ”We must remember how many people were separated, martyred, and sacrificed in the struggle to achieve this great nation. Today, we must pay tribute to all their sacrifices”.
Paying homage to the founder of Pakistan, he said, “today is a day to remember the greatest debt we owe to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his companions because it is through their efforts that we are breathing in the free air of an independent country.
Ameenuddin Bazai expressed gratitude to all those who made, protected, and contributed to the construction and development of this country.
The former Deputy Attorney General and senior lawyer Ameenuddin Bazai further said that this nation was achieved through the tireless efforts and great sacrifices of our elders, and we must continue to lead this country forward by following their example.
On this day, we must vow to set aside our mutual hatreds and resentments and leave no stone unturned for the elevation of this nation.
On this occasion, a recitation of the Quran was held for the souls of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of Pakistan and for the defense of the beloved country. A collective prayer was also offered for the country’s progress, prosperity, security, and for the freedom of our Kashmiri brothers.

Ambassador Hashmi bestows ‘Hilal-e-Quaid-i-Azam’ on ambassadors Sha Zukang, Nong Rong

BEIJING, Aug 14 (APP): In a dignified investiture ceremony held at Pakistan Embassy in Beijing, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi on Wednesday conferred the prestigious ‘Hilal-e-Quaid-i-Azam’ award, upon two distinguished Chinese dignitaries on behalf of the president of Pakistan.

The honorees were Ambassador Sha Zukang, former Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations in Geneva and past President of the China-Pakistan Friendship Association, and Ambassador Nong Rong, Deputy Director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council and former Ambassador of China to Pakistan.

Ambassador Hashmi in his remarks extended heartfelt congratulations and paid a rich tribute to the contributions made by the two dignitaries. He highlighted the significant impact of their efforts on bilateral relations and beyond.

Ambassador Hashmi also recalled the salience of time-tested, all-weather friendship between China and Pakistan, describing it as a model of inter-state relations based on mutual respect, strategic trust, and a shared vision for global peace and development.

Both Ambassador Sha Zukang and Ambassador Nong Rong expressed gratitude to the president of Pakistan for the honor and reaffirmed their commitment to even further advancing the China-Pakistan relationship.

Deputy Commissioner Ziarat Liaqat Ali Kakar and Brigadier Loralai Scouts Abdul Razaq hoisted the national flag.
Civil and military officers, local notables and a large  number of area people were also present. The smartly turned out contingent of police presented a salute of honour to the national flag.

SIALKOT, Aug 14 (APP):The 78th Independence Day was celebrated with traditional favour and zeal across Sialkot district on Wednesday.
The day dawned with special prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country. To mark the day, the main event of Independence day was held at Jinnah Hall Fort, Sialkot.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sialkot,Muhammad Zulqarnain participated as chief guest.
The ceremony was attended by Members of Provincial Assembly (MPAs) Muhammad Manshaullah Butt,Chaudhary Faisal Ikram, Administrator Municipal Corporation Muhammad Iqbal, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Finance and Planning Muzaffar Mukhtar, educationist Ashiq Hussain Siddiqui besides a large number of students and citizens.
Addressing to the participants of the ceremony, Deputy Commissioner (DC),Muhammad Zulqarnain has said that Pakistan was the gift of God, the Muslims of the subcontinent were forced to live a very poor life under the British Empire and non-Muslims were appointed in all important positions. It was the fruitful result of freedom that not only Muslims are completely enjoying freedom, but they have all the opportunities to move forward in life.
Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Muhammad Manshaullah Butt said that Pakistan was the interpretation of Surah Rahman which Allah Almighty has blessed with all blessings.
PML-N MPA Muhammad Manshaullah said that living nations protect their freedom and are grateful for it.
He said that one person will plant a tree under “Plant for Pakistan” campaign to celebrate independence this year and play your part in protecting the country from climate change.
Earlier, a flag hoisting ceremony was performed at Jinnah Hall Fort and personnel of Punjab Police,Civil Defence Organization and Rescue 1122 saluted the national flag.
Later, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Muhammad Zulqarnain,MPAs Muhammad Manshaullah Butt and Chaudhry Faisal Ikram planted saplings under “Plant for Pakistan” campaign at lawn there.

LODHRAN, Aug 14 (APP):The 78th Independence day was celebrated with fervor and national enthusiasm by the district administration.
The central Independence day ceremony of the district took place at the District Council Lodhran. Deputy Commissioner Lodhran, Abdul Rauf Mahr, along with District Police Officer Kamran Mumtaz, hoisted the national flag.
 A one-minute silence was also observed during the ceremony.On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Abdul Rauf Mahr planted a tree as part of the “Plant a Tree for Pakistan” campaign initiated by Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
Member Provincial Assembly, Zubair Khan Baloch, while addressing the Independence day ceremony, said that vibrant nations celebrate their Independence day with great enthusiasm.
He added that Pakistan needs youth who could make a mark on the global stage in their respective fields, citing Arshad Nadeem as a recent example who has brought honor and made his country proud.
He highlighted that there was no shortage of talent among our youth.
The event was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Syeda Amna Maududi, Additional Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Asad Ali, Assistant Commissioner Lodhran Ateeq Ullah, CEO Municipal Committee Anum Masoom, CEO District Council Rao Muhammad Ali, Chief Executive Officer District Education Authority Naik Muhammad Sheikh, and other political and social figures.

CJ Balochistan High Court inaugurates Green Court Project

QUETTA, Aug 14 (APP):Chief Justice of Balochistan High Court Justice Hasham Khan Kakar on Wednesday inaugurated “Green Courts Project” by planting a sapling at the campus of BHC.
The project aimed at creating awareness among masses about the damages caused by the climate change and provide green environment to the complainants coming to courts for their legal cases.
Chief Justice of the Balochistan High Court, Justice Muhammad Hashim Khan Kakar, had announced the introduction of Green Courts in Balochistan to tackle climate change and promote environmental consciousness among the public.
“The initiative will begin with the High Court judges each planting a tree. The world faces severe threats from climate change, and Pakistan is among the countries most affected by the natural disasters resulting from these changes,” he maintained.
The Chief Justice noted “Balochistan High Court is setting a target to introduce Green Courts in Balochistan, starting with each judge of the Balochistan High Court planting a tree as a symbol of this initiative.”
“World is currently facing severe threats from climate change, and we are suffering the consequences of the environment disregard,” he emphasized.
“As an institution, Green Courts will provide a clean and green environment for the litigants coming to courts for their legal issues, the Chief Justice hoped.

Flag hoisting ceremony held at Governor House to celebrate I Day

PESHAWAR, Aug 14 (APP):A dignified flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Governor’s House in Peshawar on Wednesday on the occasion of Independence Day.
The governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, conducted the flag hoisting ceremony.
The event saw the special participation of Consul Generals from the United States of America, Iran, and Afghanistan.
Provincial Assembly member Ahmad Karim Kundi, along with the staff of the Governor’s House and other distinguished guests, also attended the ceremony.
During the ceremony, the Consul Generals from the three countries joined Governor Faisal Karim Kundi and other attendees in chanting “Pakistan Zindabad” (Long live Pakistan).

NICVD celebrates I Day with enthusiasm

KARACHI, Aug 14 (APP):The National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) celebrated the 78th Independence Day of Pakistan with great fervor and patriotism.

The Executive Director of NICVD Professor Tahir Saghir led the flag-hoisting ceremony at the NICVD premises, which was attended by the faculty, staff, and other distinguished officials.

The event commenced with the recitation of the national anthem, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Professor Tahir Saghir. The atmosphere was filled with pride and patriotism as everyone in attendance saluted the flag, symbolizing the unity and strength of the nation.
