KARACHI, Feb 12 (APP): Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori attended the celebrations on the occasion of the 45th anniversary of Iran’s Islamic Revolution in Islamabad.

On the occasion, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan Dr. Reza Amiri Moghaddam welcomed the Sindh Governor, said a statement issued by the spokesperson of the Governor here on Monday.

The Governor also cut the cake with the Iranian Ambassador.

DG KDA reviews ongoing uplift works

KARACHI, Feb 12 (APP):Director General of Karachi Development Authority (KDA) Naveed Anwar reviewed the ongoing renovation work in the Civic Center Building and the ongoing development work around the building.
On the occasion, he said that the process of renovation of Civic Center Building should be completed as soon as possible, in this regard, the relevant authorities should immediately use all resources to complete the development works, said a statement on Monday.
DG KDA Naveed Anwar was briefed about the ongoing development works while he issued orders to Chief Engineer Tariq Rafi to complete the development works with in the stipulated period by increasing the manpower and machinery.
He further said that a Vigilance Center has been set up in Civic Center Building to prevent suspicious activities whereas all departments of KDA are being monitored on daily basis.
Moreover, DG KDA directed the Electrical and Mechanical Executive Engineer that cleaning and sanitation should be performed on a daily basis in the civic center building, in this regard no negligence will be tolerated.
The process of cutting unnecessary trees and planting new trees in the building is also going on, which will further enhance the beauty of the building, while the non-functional fountains in the building are being re-activated.

CED organises “Boot Camp” programme

KARACHI, Feb 12 (APP):The College Education Department, Sindh has organized a “Boot Camp” programme with different activities scheduled for three days.
According to the statement, on its first day, boot camp was organized with students on Monday at Khatoon-e-Pakistan Govt.
Girls Degree College Karachi brings together male and female students from various colleges across the city.
The prime objective was to engage students in the pivotal task of shaping a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework.
This event served as a platform for students to actively contribute their perspectives and insights toward the development of this essential framework.
Recognizing the significance of student input, the department emphasized the invaluable role that young minds play in shaping educational policies and practices. By involving students in the M&E framework development process, the department aims to ensure that it accurately reflects the needs and experiences of those directly impacted by educational initiatives.

Two leopard cubs recovered from Jabbari forest in Abbotabad

PESHAWAR, Feb 12 (APP):Two leopard cubs are recovered from Jabbari forest in Abbottabad district by Wildlife Department officials on Monday.
According to Wildlife Official, Abdul Khaliq, the two leopard cubs are un-weaned with ages ranging between two to three months.
The minor leopards were handed over to the Wildlife Department by locals of the area who found them in the forest. The pair is shifted to an enclosure for feeding milk and taking care of them.
Search for the mother of the leopard cubs is also in progress to get the lost cub returned to the wilderness, Abdul Khaliq told media men. He said due to excessive deforestation wild species are affected and coming close to human dwellings.

Funeral prayer of martyred ASI offered

LARKANA, Feb 12 (APP):The funeral prayer of ASI Syed Sultan Hussain Shah, who was martyred in exchange of fire between the supporters of two political parties on Sunday, was offered on Monday.
Besides DSP Headquarters Sarfraz Ahmad Pechuho, officers and personnel of law enforcement forces, a large of people from all walks of life attended the Namaz-e-Janaza.
He was later laid to rest with full official honours. Wreaths were placed at his grave on behalf of Inspector General of Police Sindh, and Director General of Rangers Sindh

Askari Tower attack: ATC sends Khalid Gujjar to jail on judicial remand

LAHORE, Feb 12 (APP):An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Khalid Mahmood Gujjar to jail on 14-day judicial remand in the Askari Tower attack case.
Earlier, the police produced Khalid Gujjar before ATC Judge Muhammad Naveed Iqbal on expiry of his physical remand. The police requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused as investigations could not be completed from him.
However, the court turned down the plea for physical remand and sent Khalid Gujjar to jail on 14-day judicial remand. The court directed for producing the accused on expiry of judicial remand.
The Gulberg police had registered a case against Khalid Gujjar and other PTI leaders and workers for attacking Askari Tower during May-9 violence.

BBISE installed Ultra Fast Track Software Cell for provision DMC to students

QUETTA, Feb 12 (APP):Balochistan Board Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) Chairman Mir Ijaz Azeem Baloch on Monday said that the BBISE has installed an automatic digital Ultra Fast Track software Cell (UFTSC) in seven districts of the province for the provision of Detailed Marks Certificates (DMC) to students at their doorstep.
Talking to APP here, he said that the Ultra Fast Track Software Cell was installed in respective districts of the BBISE’s sub-branch access including, Turbat, Loralai, Zhob, Khuzdar, Kharan, DMJ, and Sibi districts where students would get their DMC within 30 minutes after applying for it.
He said that the installation of the Ultra Fast Track Software Cell would decrease the difficulties of the students and save their precious time in the rural areas of Balochistan.  He said that now there was no need for students from remote areas of Gwadar, Turbat, Panjgur, and Zhob to come to Quetta after the installation of Ultra Fast Track Software Cell in the areas saying that students could receive their DMC through the software from 2016 to 2024.
He said that sub-branches of the province, Turbat, Loralai, Zhob, Khuzdar, Kharan, Sibi, and Dera Morad Jamali have been permitted so that students could give DMC on time and would be freed within 30 minutes.
The Chairman Board further said that under the Digital Attendance and Monitoring System “DAMS” real-time attendance of the monitoring staff including the examination’s staff and students participating in the examinations would be taken online.
He gave a message to children that they should also acquire quality knowledge with enthusiasm because going forward these children have to take care of the future of the country saying that we endeavored to equip the future generations with the jewel of modern education.
He said that the present era was about quality, and technical education, ignorance could be ended through knowledge. He said that it was a top priority of the BBISC to end copy culture from the minds of the students for which special monitoring teams have been formed to visit examination centers.
He also urged teachers they play their role in eradicating the cheating system from examinations. In response to the question, he said that he had sent letters to the directors of education including the Director of Colleges and the Director of Schools regarding preparation of the examination under the syllabus.

Woman dies, three injured in separate accidents in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD, Feb 12 (APP):A woman lost her life while a man and his daughter injured in two separate road accidents in Hala Naka and Qasimabad areas here on Monday.
According to the Hatri police station, a truck hit a motorbike in Hala Naka and ran over the woman, who was riding on the pillion seat. The deceased identified as 40 years old Nusrat Sajjad Kaloi, a resident of GOR Colony.
The police impounded the vehicle but the driver managed to escape.
In another incident,in the limits of GOR police station a car struck a motorbike on Sindh Museum road, leaving a man and his daughter wounded.
Muhammad Imran Lakhani and his daughter Noor were heading towards their residence after returning from the school when they met the accident.
The police told that a man Abdul Sami Abbassi, who was driving the car, was also injured in the accident. The eyewitnesses told the police that two cars appeared engaged in a sort of racing before one of them hit the motorbike. The injured were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital (LUH).

Jinnah House attack: LHC grants bail to PTI activist, others

LAHORE, Feb 12 (APP):A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Monday granted bail to 20 accused, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Tayyaba Raja, in a case of attacking Jinnah House.
The court also granted bail to Iftikharul Hassan, Samia Asif, Saeed, Hassan Aziz, and Izharul Haq, besides other accused.
The bench headed by Justice Aalia Neelum heard the post-arrest bail petitions filed by the accused and announced the verdict on conclusion of arguments by the parties.
The Sarwar Road police had registered a case against PTI leaders and workers on charges of attacking Jinnah House (also known as the residence of corps commander Lahore), during May-9 riots.
