PPP render great sacrifices for democracy: Nisar Khuhro

HYDERABAD, Sep 07 (APP):The President of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh and Member of Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khuhro has said that the PPP was the country’s largest democratic party, having made significant sacrifices for democracy.
He maintained that party workers have endured imprisonment, lashes and even bullets, their contributions and sacrifices must be acknowledged. Khuhro expressed these views while addressing a public gathering in Tando Allahyar.
He said that the party was established by Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto and well managed by Shaheed Benazir Bhutto, we have learned politics from her. He said that shaheed Benazir Bhutto always considered Tandoalahyar as second Lyari, for this we should make the party stronger in Tando Allahyar.
He also praised the leadership of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, saying that the young PPP leader has the full potential to steer the country through tough times. The PPP leader mentioned that the party has democratically elected district presidents and office-bearers, ensuring that they address the issues of the public. He urged the party representatives to maintain close contact with the people and be present in their joys and sorrows.
On this occasion, Member of Sindh Assembly Imdad Pitafi addressed the gathering and said that we were grateful to the Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who trusted our family and gave us the district chairmanship of the party. He pledged to work alongside other office-bearers and the public to serve the people. The newly elected president of PPP Tando Allahyar Zaheer Pitafi thanked the workers and senior leaders for placing their trust in him. He assured the public that any issue faced by them in any institution would be resolved on a priority basis. Members of the Sindh Assembly Dr. Sikandar Shoro, Ali Hassan Hingorjo and other party leaders also addressed the gathering.
Earlier, Nisar Khuhro, Ali Hassan Hingorjo, Imdad Pitafi, Dr. Sikandar Shoro and the newly elected President of PPP Tando Allahyar Zaheer Pitafi, led a rally of party workers and leaders in vehicles to Tando Allahyar, where they were warmly welcomed. The rally then proceeded to the venue and joined the public gathering

Polio immunization drive to start in Hyderabad from Sept 9

HYDERABAD, Sep 07 (APP):The District Health Office with the support of the district administration will start a 7-day polio immunization drive in Hyderabad from September 9.
A health official informed here on Saturday that an urgent polio campaign had been planned for the district after a polio positive case surfaced in Hyderabad last month.
He said the provincial government had strictly directed the authorities to address the problem of refusal cases.
The official appealed to the parents to cooperate with the health teams which would be visiting door-to-door to inoculate children under 5 years of age.

Governor visits residence of Shaheed Pilot Rashid Minhas

KARACHI, Sep 07 (APP):Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori has said that the families of martyrs are the pride of the nation.
He expressed his deep reverence for the families of those, who sacrificed their lives for the country, remarking that it was an honor to serve them.
“I salute the brave sons of the nation,” said Governor Tessori during his visit to the home of Shaheed Pilot Rashid Minhas (Nishan-e-Haider), where he met the family to pay his tribute.
During the visit, Shaheed Rashid Minhas’ brother said that the Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori was the first governor, who had visited their home. In response, the Governor remarked that the nation’s brave son, Rashid Minhas, thwarted enemy designs and embraced martyrdom with honor. He said, “The sacrifice of Shaheed Rashid Minhas for the nation serves as a beacon of light for the younger generation. He is a son this nation is proud of.”
Later, while talking the media persons, the Governor Tessori said, “Today, we commemorate the martyrs of the Pakistan Air Force. I came here to offer my tribute to the family of Shaheed Rashid Minhas.” He praised the family for raising such a valiant son, who brought everlasting glory to the country. Tessori also emphasized that Pakistan had no shortage of those willing to sacrifice their lives for the country, and every citizen was ready to defend the nation with unwavering faith.
The Governor paid tribute to the Pakistan Air Force, highlighting their role in preparing young men, who guard the nation’s skies with their lives. “No one can dare cast an evil eye on a country that has such brave families,” he asserted.
Speaking on the country’s economic challenges, he praised the efforts of the Prime Minister and the Army Chief, acknowledging their dedication to steering Pakistan out of its economic crisis. He noted that the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC) would soon stabilize Pakistan’s economy.
The Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori also visited the grave of Shaheed Rashid Minhas, where he laid a wreath and offered fateha for the martyr.

Maritime Minister reviews performance, holds ‘Khuli Kachehri’

KARACHI, Sep 07 (APP): The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh chaired a performance review meeting to assess the progress and achievements of key maritime organizations.
During the meeting, the minister reviewed the performance of each organization, discussing their successes, challenges, and areas for improvement. The discussion focused on enhancing efficiency, productivity, and service delivery in the maritime sector.
The meeting concluded with a commitment to implementing recommendations and action plans to drive growth and development in the maritime sector.
Following the performance review meeting, the minister chaired a ‘Khuli Kachehri’ to listen to the complaints and grievances of stakeholders from the maritime industry. The open forum provided an opportunity for stakeholders to directly interact with the minister and share their concerns, suggestions, and ideas for improving the sector.
The minister assured the stakeholders that their voices would be heard and their issues would be addressed promptly.
The Khuli Kachehri was attended by representatives of different stakeholders, including the Chairman of Port Qasim Authority (PQA), the Chairman of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) and Executive Directors of Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC), Marine Fisheries Department (MFD), and Korangi Fish Harbour Authority (KoHFA) along with their teams.
During the Khuli Kachehri the minister issued on the spot directives to resolve the problems of the complainants on a priority basis.

Two terrorists killed in Kalat IBO

RAWALPINDI, Sep 07 (APP): The security forces have killed two terrorists during an intelligence-based operation (IBO) conducted on the night of September 6 & 7 in Kalat District of Balochistan.

During the conduct of operation, the Army troops surrounded and effectively engaged the terrorists’ location, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.

Weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorists activities in the area against Security Forces as well as the innocent civilians.

“Sanitization operation is underway to neutralize any other terrorist present in the area.

Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the nation, remain determined to thwart attempts at sabotaging peace, stability and progress of Balochistan,” the ISPR said.

Governor inaugurates ‘IVY’ app to meet educational needs

KARACHI, Sep 07 (APP):Sindh Governor Mohammed Kamran Khan Tessori on Saturday inaugurated the state-of-the-art online application ‘IVY’ at the Governor House.
The application has been designed to meet the educational needs of students, particularly those preparing for A and O Level exams. Additionally, it will equip students with the skills necessary to compete in global competitions.
Addressing the launch ceremony, Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori praised the entire IVY team for their remarkable efforts, stating that this initiative is a testament to the commitment to innovation, a communique said.
He emphasized that providing preparation for A and O Level students through this platform is a commendable step.
Tessori further highlighted the critical role technology in a rapidly advancing world, noting that this online application will open up abundant opportunities for the youth of the province, and initiative from Sindh that would help students from all over Pakistan.
The Governor called on the government, private sector, and civil society organizations to extend their support and cooperation in this initiative. The Governor also stressed the importance of education, stating that without it, progress is not possible. He affirmed that with 62 percent of the population being young, nothing can stop Pakistan from moving forward, and expressed confidence that the country will achieve the vision for which it was founded in the coming years.
He further highlighted that Pakistan has no shortage of individuals working on self-help initiatives.  Currently, 50,000 young people are receiving free training in these courses at the Governor House. He also mentioned the ongoing Ration Drive, which is providing food to the needy, emphasizing that when one commits to doing good, divine help and support follow.
The Governor Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori stressed that Pakistan is brimming with talent, citing the example of gold medalist Arshad Nadeem, who, despite coming from a modest background, rose to international fame. His father was a labour, but Nadeem’s determination and perseverance brought global recognition to Pakistan.
Consul Generals of Afghanistan, Bahrain, Oman, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and other countries were also present on this occasion, besides Jinnah University Vice Chancellor for Women Wajeehuddin Ahmed, IOBM Vice Chancellor Dr. Tariq Soomro, Indus Hospital Network’s President Dr. Abdul Bari, Fazal Dadabhoy, Shahid Ashraf – Deputy Country Director, Pakistan – Cambridge Assessment International Education, IVY Directors Waleed Khanzada, Waseem Taj, Madani Jatoi, Yasir Amin, Abdul Samad and Maaz bin Zafar Khan were also present.
