PSX witnesses bullish trend, gains 81.79 points
ISLAMABAD, Jun 16 (APP): The 100-Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bullish trend on Monday, gaining 81.79 points, a positive change of 0.07 percent, closing at 122,225.36 points as compared to 122,143.57 points on the last trading day.
A total of 1,224,178,443 shares were traded during the day as compared to 968,346,528 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 25.750 billion against Rs 29.558 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 471 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 282 of them recorded gains and 159 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 30 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with 267,081,176 shares at Rs 1.62 per share, Pervez Ahmed Co. with 92,031,551 shares at Rs 3.93 per share and 1st.Capital Sec with 86,020,335 shares at Rs 3.85 per share.
Macter International Limited witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 38.61 per share closing at Rs424.71 whereas runner-up was Blessed Textiles Limited with Rs26.89 rise in its share price to close at Rs304.91.
PIA Holding Company LimitedB witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs 1,888.91 per share price, closing at Rs 17,000.19, whereas the runner-up Khyber Textile Mills Limited with Rs 179.45 decline in its per share price to Rs 1,615.10.
DPM/FM Dar stresses upon importance of further expanding Pak-Japan relations
ISLAMABAD, June 16 (APP): Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar Monday emphasized the importance of further expanding Pakistan-Japan bilateral relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, IT and industrial cooperation.
He expressed these views during a meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Japan Abdul Hameed Bhutta who paid a farewell call on him, Foreign Office Spokesperson said in a press release.
The DPM/FM congratulated the ambassador-designate on his new assignment and conveyed his best wishes for a successful tenure.
The DPM/FM also advised to extend all possible support to the Pakistani diaspora in Japan, with a focus on enhancing consular services and ensuring the welfare of the community.
