NA marks Youm-e-Istehsal with pledge of support to Kashmiris, unanimously passes resolution

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The National Assembly on Tuesday observed Youm-e-Istehsal with a unanimous reaffirmation of Pakistan’s unwavering political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination, as enshrined in United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Lawmakers from across the political spectrum in their discussions on Kashmir in National Assembly condemned India’s August 5, 2019 illegal and unilateral actions in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and unanimously passed a resolution rejecting New Delhi’s measures and demanding their reversal.
Minister for Kashmir Affairs, Gilgit-Baltistan and Safron  Engr. Amir Muqam, who read the resolution in Urdu, denounced the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, citing decades of oppression, thousands of custodial killings and widespread demolitions in IIOJK.
He praised the Kashmiris’ resilience and noted that rallies across the country, including a large gathering at D-Chowk, sent a strong message to the world.
Shazia Marri read the resolution in English, which rejected India’s illegal actions, condemned grave human rights violations and demanded the reversal of all demographic engineering attempts. The House unanimously adopted the resolution.
Former Speaker National Assembly and Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said the entire Pakistani nation, irrespective of political affiliation, stood united for the cause of Kashmir. He recalled the Pakistan Peoples Party’s historic stance on the dispute, quoting Zulfikar Ali Bhutto’s resolve to fight for a thousand years if necessary, Benazir Bhutto’s pledge that “wherever the sweat of a Kashmiri falls, our blood will fall,” and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s declaration that “we will take every inch of Kashmir.”
Ashraf paid tribute to the people of IIOJK for their courage in the face of atrocities, including demographic changes, restrictions on movement, and human rights abuses, and said their determination for freedom could not be crushed by any power in the world.
Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party chief Mahmood Khan Achakzai stressed the importance of constitutional supremacy and cautioned against policies that erode public trust, while PTI leader Amir Dogar called for safeguarding democratic freedoms alongside supporting the Kashmiri cause.
Former Punjab governor Latif Khosa criticised judicial and political decisions that weakened constitutional principles while reiterating support for Kashmir’s cause and the protection of rights within Pakistan. Khawaja Sheraz underlined the need for national unity on Kashmir while addressing governance and security challenges at home.
Bajaur lawmaker Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Tribal Affairs (SAPM) Mubarak Zeb Khan condemned targeted killings in the district, calling for an immediate halt to operations and proper arrangements for displaced families.
Hameed Hussain voiced solidarity with Kashmiris and appealed for the removal of road travel restrictions for Arbaeen pilgrims.
Federal Minister for National Health Services and MQM-Pakistan leader Syed Mustafa Kamal said India had long sought to divert attention from Kashmir by fuelling unrest in Karachi and Balochistan, crediting Pakistan’s civil and military leadership for dismantling RAW’s networks in Karachi.
Brigadier (Retd) Muhammad Aslam Ghumman praised the armed forces for safeguarding the country and condemned political victimisation of opposition leaders. Sehar Kamran termed Narendra Modi a “low-version Hitler” and condemned atrocities in IIOJK, urging the OIC and regional countries to take decisive action.
Sardar Sanaullah Khan Masti Khel criticised the detention of PTI founder Imran Khan and called for a “Charter of Pakistan” to ensure all state institutions operate strictly within constitutional limits. Mubeen Haris condemned selective application of laws, saying those responsible for repeated constitutional breaches cannot claim to be its guardians.
Makhdoom Jameel-uz-Zaman proposed holding a National Assembly session in Kashmir to demonstrate solidarity before the world, while Ehsan ul Haq Bajwa urged the Prime Minister to announce relief for flood-hit areas in Punjab, particularly Bahawalnagar, where heavy rains had inundated hundreds of villages.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, met with Siana Group USA Chairman, M Ashraf Qazi and discussed with him the revival of Pakistan Steel Mills, business collaboration, investment prospects in Pakistan and iron ore export potential.
According to press release issued by the Ministry of Industries and Production, the SAPM emphasized that Pakistan offered immense opportunities in the iron and steel sector and that reviving the steel industry was a top priority of the government.
He said the government was fully committed to facilitating investors and would provide all necessary support to encourage foreign and local investment.
“Investment in the steel sector is vital for Pakistan’s industrial development,” he said, adding that concrete steps were being taken to create an investor-friendly environment.

Pakistan working closely with UAE counterparts to explore new opportunities in maritime sector: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar on Tuesday said that inauguration of AD Ports Group   office in Islamabad would strengthen maritime and logistics cooperation between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the minister said the establishment of the AD Ports Group’s presence in Islamabad reflects the deepening strategic partnership between the two nations and signals a shared vision for transforming the maritime and logistics landscape of the region.
He acknowledged AD Ports Group’s growing role in Pakistan’s maritime sector, particularly in improving port operations. “This collaboration has already delivered measurable outcomes—enhancing efficiency, reducing vessel turnaround time, and increasing cargo throughput,” he noted.
Describing the partnership as a model of public-private and international cooperation, the minister said the opening of the Islamabad office will accelerate future initiatives and boost maritime development.
“The Ministry of Maritime Affairs remains open to further investments and collaboration. We welcome new partnerships that align with our goal of a modern, competitive, and connected maritime sector,” he said.
The minister concluded by reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to working closely with UAE counterparts to explore new opportunities and advance mutual maritime interests.
Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, Federal Minister for Commerce Jam Kamal Khan, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarrar, and Federal Minister for Science and Technology Khalid Hussain Magsi graced the event with their presence.
Senior leadership from AD Ports Group also participated, including Mr. Abdulaziz Zayed Al Shamsi and Mr. AbdulAziz Al Balooshi, Regional CEOs of AD Ports Group, along with Mr. Khurram Aziz Khan, CEO of KGTL and KGTML.
The Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Pakistan, H.E. Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi, was also present.
At the conclusion of the event, the federal ministers were presented with souvenirs by Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al Zaabi and representatives of the AD Ports Group as a gesture of goodwill and appreciation for the continued collaboration between the two countries.

NCCIA challenges verdict to form commission in blasphemy cases

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): National Cyber Crimes Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on Tuesday also filed an intra court appeal (ICA) to Islamabad High Court (IHC) against the order for formation of a commission to probe the allegations of blasphemy.
Advocate Rao Abdul Rahim and others have already challenged the decision of single member bench. The division bench has already suspended the decision to form the commission.
The single bench had ordered the formation of the commission within 30 days.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 04 (APP): Pakistan missions and embassies in various capitals of the world, Tuesday, observed Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir to mark the 6th anniversary of India’s continued illegal actions of 5th August 2019, which was attended by a large number of Pakistani diaspora and Kashmiris. 

Messages of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif were read out during these events and special documentaries highlighting Indian atrocities in IIOJK were also screened.  

LONDON:- 

The Pakistan High Commission in London organised a Seminar/Webinar to observe “Youm-e-Istehsal”, denouncing India’s unilateral and illegal actions of August 5, 2019, wherein it revoked the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).

The seminar was attended by Lord Qurban Hussain; Lord Shaffaq Mohammed; Chair of APPG on Pakistan Yasmin Qureshi MP; Chairman, UK-Pakistan Kashmiri Councillors Forum Mr. Liaqat Ali MBE; Khalid Mehmood, former MP; Dr. Sheikh Ramzy, Director Oxford Islamic Information Centre; Dr. Zulfiqar Ali, Deputy Mayor of Newham; Councilor Amjad Abbasi; Ms. Shamim Shawl, Executive Member All Parties Hurriyat Conference; Ahmed Qureshi, International Journalist; Advocate Rehana Ali, Information Secretary Tehreek-e-Kashmir; Dr Abida Rafique, Chair of Asian Resource Forum Kashmir; social activists, academia and a large number of Kashmiris in UK. 

Members of the British Parliament, lawyers, human right activists and the guest speakers condemned the action of Indian government to revoke Article 370-A illegally and unconstitutionally, 6 years ago. During their remarks, the speakers expressed solidarity with the Kashmiri people, calling on India to halt human rights abuses in IIOJK. They underscored the urgent need to resolve the Jammu & Kashmir dispute in line with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions. They suggested drawing up a road-map comprising of actions and activities for outreach to the UK Parliament and decision makers, for a just solution of the dispute. 

During his key-note address at the seminar, High Commissioner Dr. Mohammad Faisal emphasized the importance of unity among Kashmiris and Pakistanis worldwide to effectively advocate for the Kashmir cause.  

He strongly condemned India’s brutal tactics in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), including arbitrary detentions of Hurriyat leaders, media suppression, communication blackouts, enforced disappearances, torture, and extrajudicial killings. 

Dr. Faisal highlighted the nation’s unwavering support for Pakistan’s armed forces during Operation Bunyan Al-Marsoos, which led to the decisive success of Marka-e-Haq. 

Prior to the seminar, the High Commission hosted a photo exhibition showcasing evidence of atrocities committed by Indian occupation forces in IIOJK.  

The harrowing images served as a stark reminder of the ongoing human rights crisis and the necessity of a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.  

Attendees also observed a minute of silence to honor the martyrs of Kashmir. 

 ABU DHABI:- 

Pakistan embassy in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates observed the day to highlight India’s illegal steps aimed at altering the internationally recognized disputed status of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).  

In his statement, Charge d’affaires Qasim Aziz highlighted the importance of observance of the Youm-e-Istehsal and recalled India’s brutality in IIOJK resulting in violation of fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.  

He referred to illegal actions of 5 August 2019 as a blatant violation of international law including the UN Charter and UN Security Council Resolutions.

He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s resolve to extend political, diplomatic and moral support to Kashmiri people in their just struggle for realization of their inalienable right to self-determination. 

TEHRAN:- 

Embassy of Pakistan, Tehran organized an event to denounce the abrogation of article 35 A and 370 of the Indian constitution that guaranteed special autonomous status for Jammu & Kashmir on 5th August 2019. These actions were aimed at changing demography of the illegally Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK).  

The event was attended by Pakistani nationals, students and media representatives in large number. 

Prominent Iranian scholars Dr. Qasim Safi and Samaneh Khalafzadeh while addressing the audience highlighted the struggle of Kashmiris for their independence and right of self-determination.

They also appreciated the role of Pakistan and her leadership to support the Kashmir cause at every forum and raising the voice against human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). 

On the occasion, Deputy Head of Mission Ismat Hassan Sial mentioned that Iranian leadership has also given a great regard to struggle in Kashmir and at multiple times called upon the world community to break its silence on the human rights violations in Jammu & Kashmir.   

In her remarks, she said that Kashmiris were subjected to barbarism of Indian forces since October 1947. The Indian security forces have maimed, executed, murdered, blinded, raped, and suffocated the innocent Kashmiris.  

“Pakistan has always been calling upon world leaders, international community including the United Nations, and all Human rights organizations to urge India to halt the brutal use of force against the people of Kashmir and resolve the issue diplomatically under the charter of the United Nations Security Council,” she added.

A minute of silence was observed by Pakistan Embassy in Egypt by the Ambassador, embassy Officials earlier on Youm e Estehsal to honour the relentless sacrifices of valiant Kashmiri people for the realization of their inalienable right to self-determination.

Pakistan Embassy in Jordan organized a seminar to mark Youm-e-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation,Kashmir), highlighting the ongoing oppression in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK). The event was attended by distinguished members of the academia, think tanks, media, and other notables from Jordan.

JEDDAH:- 

An event to observe “Youme-Istehsal-e-Kashmir” was organized by the Consulate General of Pakistan and Pakistani community in Jeddah to express solidarity with Kashmiris in the face of Indian atrocities and violation of international laws and obligations.  

On this day India officially revoked the autonomous status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJ&K) and imposed direct central rule.

The speakers highlighted the genesis of the Kashmir dispute and the ongoing situation in the occupied territory; condemned illegal, immoral and unilateral actions of 5th August 2019 by India; paid homage and tribute to the resilience of the Kashmiri people; appreciated the positive role by Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as the OIC for Kashmir cause; and presented various proposals as future course of action for a peaceful and durable resolution of the Kashmir dispute. 

A cross-section of the Pakistani and Kashmir community as well as representative of the ethnic media participated in the event in large numbers.
It was concluded with collective prayer for the martyrs of the Kashmir cause, early peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and peace, progress and prosperity of Pakistan.

India’s Aug 5 move a dark chapter in Kashmir’s history: PA Speaker

LAHORE, Aug 05 (APP): Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan strongly condemned India’s illegal and unilateral actions of August 5, 2019, calling it one of the darkest days in Kashmir’s history.
In his message on the occasion of Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, he said that on this day, India revoked the special status of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK), flagrantly violating the fundamental rights of the Kashmiri people.
The Speaker said that for over 78 years, India has relied on force, coercion, and military suppression to deny Kashmiris their legitimate right to self-determination. Yet, the unwavering struggle of the Kashmiri people continues with courage and determination.
Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan stressed that India’s occupation of Kashmir is a blatant violation of United Nations Security Council resolutions. “By disregarding international law, India has jeopardized peace and stability across the region,” he said, adding that the deployment of over one million Indian troops in the occupied valley is undeniable evidence of state-sponsored oppression.
He paid tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, asserting that their resistance has never faltered and never will. “The day is not far when the dawn of freedom will rise over the occupied valley,” he said.

Chaudhry Anwarul Haq reaffirms support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): Parliamentary Secretary for Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Chaudhry Anwarul Haq Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal.
He stated this while participating as the chief guest in a special event organized by the Ministry of Kashmir Affairs to mark Youm-e-Istehsal (Day of Exploitation).
The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information Atta Tarar, Federal Minister Amir Muqam, Adviser to Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah, and several other prominent political leaders.

ECP de-notifies nine PTI lawmakers including Senate, NA opposition leaders

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Tuesday de-notified nine Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers, including opposition leaders in the Senate and National Assembly — Senator Shibli Faraz and Omar Ayub Khan — following their convictions in the May 9 cases.

According to the notification issued by the commission, an anti-terrorism court convicted the lawmakers and sentenced them to imprisonment. The disqualified legislators include five members of the National Assembly, one senator, and three members of the Punjab Assembly.

From the National Assembly, those de-notified are Omar Ayub (NA-18 Haripur), Rai Hassan Nawaz (NA-143 Sahiwal-III), Zartaj Gul (NA-185 DG Khan-II), Rai Haider Ali (NA-96 Faisalabad-II), and Sahibzada Hamid Raza (NA-104 Faisalabad-X). Punjab Assembly members Muhammad Ansar Iqbal (PP-73 Sargodha-III), Junaid Afzal (PP-98 Faisalabad-I), and Rai Muhammad Murtaza Iqbal (PP-203 Sahiwal-VI) were also disqualified.

The lawmakers were de-notified under Article 63(1)(h) of the Constitution, which disqualifies any person convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude and sentenced to imprisonment for a term of not less than two years.

Following the disqualification of nine Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers, including opposition leaders in the Senate and National Assembly, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has officially declared their seats in the Senate, National Assembly, and Punjab Assembly vacant.

GPA, Chinese firm ink LoI to boost Gwadar Port investments

ISLAMABAD, Aug 05 (APP): China’s Xinning Enterprise have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with Gwadar Port Authority (GPA) to stimulate major industrial and commercial investments at Gwadar Port and its Free Zone, underscoring Gwadar’s growing role as a key regional hub for trade and economic activity.
The LoI signed Tuesday by Yi Jiang, representing Xinning Enterprise, outlines plans for diverse ventures and recieved by Umer Zaffar Shaikh, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs on the behalf of Chairman Gwadar Port Authority while Chairman Gwadar Port Authority, Noor-ul-Haq Baloch joined the event through Zoom.
These ventures include developing Gwadar Port as a regional transshipment center, launching new industrial projects, optimizing existing facilities within the Gwadar Free Zone, and relocating industeries.
The Chinese business delegation, headed by Yi Jiang, Director of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) also met with Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry to discuss ways to boost the performance of Gwadar Port.
The minister lauded the partnership as a significant milestone in strengthening Gwadar’s strategic importance. He highlighted Xinning Enterprise’s potential to boost the port’s throughput, attract foreign investment, and contribute to the broader economic development of the region.
Both parties committed to adhering to Pakistan’s legal and regulatory framework governing Gwadar’s port and Free Zone operations. They also pledged continued good-faith discussions to identify investment opportunities, finalize operational details, and establish mechanisms for cooperation.
Minister Junaid Chaudhry reaffirmed the government’s commitment to transforming Gwadar into a global maritime gateway and industrial powerhouse, emphasizing that collaborations with reputable international enterprises will accelerate Pakistan’s maritime and economic ambitions.

CDA increases employees’ Hajj quota to 76

ISLAMABAD, Aug 5 (APP): Capital Development Authority (CDA) has increased the number of staff members selected for Hajj this year from 66 to 76.
The announcement came during a balloting ceremony held here on Tuesday, presided over by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa.
The balloting process involved 9,352 non-gazetted CDA employees (Grades 1 to 17), including 9,123 men and 229 women. As a result of the draw, 77 employees were selected to perform Hajj this year.
“This institution runs on the strength of its employees and the prayers of their mothers,” said Chairman Randhawa while addressing the gathering. “We are committed to doing all we can for their well-being. Those going on Hajj are Allah’s honored guests. They should pray for our martyrs, for Pakistan, and the success of our nation.”
The decision to increase the quota was made in response to a request from the General Secretary of the CDA Workers Union, Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin.
“This compassionate step by the Chairman will be remembered forever,” said Yasin. “We thank the administration for standing with employees, and the Workers Union will continue to support the CDA leadership in all efforts for staff welfare.”
Chairman Randhawa emphasized the importance of intention and accountability, encouraging employees to remain dedicated and to pray for the country during their pilgrimage. “With sincerity and hard work, no one can undermine our institution, our city, or our country,” he said.
The event concluded with prayers and congratulations to all successful candidates. The draw was conducted openly, with CDA officials underscoring the administration’s commitment to fairness and transparency in employee-related initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by senior CDA board members, including Member Admin and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Planning Dr. Muhammad Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandiyar Baloch, and Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza.
