Ahsan Iqbal appointed UNDP’s Champion Minister to promote SDGs

BISP to update National Socio Economic Registry in two phases
ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): The BISP Board on Thursday was informed that BISP was ready to update National Socio Economic Registry (NSER) and the task would be carried out in two phases. Minister of State and Chairperson BISP, MNA Marvi Memon chaired 25th meeting of BISP Board at BISP Secretariat, said a press release issued here. The management of the BISP further briefed the Board members that in phase 1, survey in 16 districts throughout the country, including AJK, GB and FATA will be initiated from June 2016.

Pakistan approaching Taliban factions for direct peace talks with Afghan government: FO
ISLAMABAD, Feb 25 (APP): Pakistan on Thursday said it was approaching all factions of Taliban and other groups to bring them to negotiating table for the direct peace talks with the Afghan government. Foreign Office Spokesman Mohammad Nafees Zakaria at a weekly media briefing at the Foreign Office here said all Taliban factions had been invited to particpate through their authorized representatives in the first round of direct peace talks, expected to take place in March’s first week in Islamabad.
