Kashmir’s prosperity, liberation PML N’s mission: Kirmani

DHIRKOT, April 12 (APP): Special Assistant to Prime Minister
Dr Syed Asif Kirmani Tuesday said the prosperity of Azad Jammu andKashmir (AJK) and the liberation of occupied valley was the mission of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML N).

Addressing ‘Workers Convention’ here, he said the PML N would field its candidates in all constituencies of AJK Legislative Assembly for the ensuing elections.

The PML N, he said, was pursuing the ideology of former AJK
President Sardar Abdul Qayyum Khan and that was the reason the ideological workers of Muslim Conference were joining the PML N.

President stresses close Pak-Turk collaboration in fighting terrorism

ISLAMABAD, Apr 12 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Tuesday stressed close cooperation between Pakistan and Turkey to jointly combat terrorism for peace and stability the two countries and the region.

The President stated this in a meeting with Turkish parliamentary delegation led by Ismail Kahraman, Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (GNAT) here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.

The President expressed condolence over the loss of many lives in the recent terrorist attacks in Istanbul, Ankara and other cities, and assured that Pakistan stood in strong solidarity with Turkey and was ready to assist in any way possible.

DHIRKOT, April 12 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid Tuesday urged the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) to vote for Paksitan Muslim League Nawaz
(PML N) candidates to get rid of the problems being faced by them.

The PML N under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif was already working for the development of Pakistan and after voted to power would bringing the valley at par with rest of the country, he said while a ddressing ‘workers convention’ here.

The minister said being in power at the Centre, only the PML N could launch development projects in AJK and bring prosperity on this side of the Kohala Bridge.

Vice President of Italian Oil & Gas Company ENI, calls on Dar

ISLAMABAD, April 12 (APP): Lapo Pistelli, Vice President ENI, reputed Italian multinational Oil and Gas company called on Finance Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here Tuesday and discussed matters relating to investment in Pakistan.

The Finance Minister gave a brief overview of the economy to the visiting delegation and said Pakistan was now fully focused on the path to economic growth where investment had a major contribution to make.

He apprised the Deputy Head of ENI about the investment plans of Chinese, Saudi and Qatar companies and said Italian investors were welcome to explore and avail business opportunities in Pakistan in various fields including the energy sector.

IMF downward revises forecast for global growth in 2016

WASHINGTON, April 12 (APP): The International Monetary Fund (IMF) on Tuesday revised downward its forecast for the global growth, saying the sluggish pace leaves the world economy more exposed to risks.

In its latest World Economic Outlook, the IMF expects global growth at 3.2 percent in 2016 and 3.5 percent in 2017, a downward revision of 0.2 percent and 0.1 percent, respectively, compared with the forecast it made at the start of the year.

Emerging markets and developing economies will still account for the lion’s share of world growth in 2016, projected to grow by 4.1 percent this year and 4.6 percent next year. However, prospects across countries remain uneven and generally weaker than over the past two decades.

Pakistan believes in global peace, stability: Marvi

ISLAMABAD, April 12 (APP): Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Chairperson Marvi Memon Tuesday said Pakistan believed that peace and stability was essential for global prosperity as terrorism and extremism were the biggest threats to global peace which could only be countered by closer cooperation among stakeholders.

She was speaking at a luncheon she hosted in honour of France Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group on behalf of Convener France Pakistan Friendship Group Muhammad Junaid Anwaar Chaudhary.

Marvi Memon said Pakistan attached great importance to its
relations with France. The France Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group was established with a view to strengthen the inter parliamentary links and promote parliamentary cooperation, she added.

PM desired no meeting with PPP leadership in London: Spokesman

ISLAMABAD, Apr 12 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had neither desired any meeting with the leadership of Pakistan Peoples Party in London nor such was scheduled, the Prime Minister’s spokesman said Tuesday.

“The Prime Minister did not express desire to meet PPP
leadership during his upcoming London visit,” spokesman Mussadek Malik said in a statement.
The spokesman said no such meeting was scheduled.

“Much larger than its bilateral benefits, CPEC is indeed a corridor of peace and prosperity, not only for the people of Pakistan and China but also for the region and beyond. It will bind all these nations  together and bring about an economic transformation through enhanced connectivity,” the COAS said while addressing a seminar in Gawadar.

Having passed through tough fight against terrorism, “we have now come a long way in our struggle for stability and development. As you all know, Operation Zarb e Azb is in progress, and let me say with satisfaction, that we are in the final stages of our military operation in FATA.”

Sartaj stresses upon Ummah’s solidarity to confront enormous challenges

ISTANBUL, (Turkey) Apr 12 (APP): Adviser to the Prime Minster on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz Tuesday stressed upon Muslim Ummah’s solidarity through rekindling of spirit of brotherhood and ‘one community’ characteristic which remained an envious Muslim trait in the past.

Alluding to the enormous modern day challenges, he said unity of the Ummah was needed more than any other time in the 1400 years long history.

Addressing a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of
the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), he regretted that the Muslims and their territories remained under foreign occupation.

ISTANBUL, April 12 (APP): The Council of Ministers for the Organization of Islamic Conference on Tuesday approved 12 point agenda for the Summit with its main features of the 10 year Programme of Action and a strategy to counter Islamophobia.

OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madni told a news conference that the agenda item agreed by the Council of Ministers would be placed before the heads of state and government for final approval and set a future course
of action for ‘translating the words into actions’.

“We are keen about programme and the changing situation in the Muslim population regions and shall try to take right steps and in right direction to alleviate the sufferings of the Ummah,” he told the mediapersons.
