1,800 motorcyclists fined, 730 bikes seized; 1.9 mln vehicles enter Capital during Eid

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) took action against over 1,800 motorcyclists for violating traffic rules during Eid-ul-Azha holidays, while more than 730 motorcycles were impounded in various police stations.
An official told APP on Monday that legal action was initiated against 105 one-wheelers and 13 heavy bike riders involved in unlawful activities on the city’s roads.
He said 914 vehicles were issued traffic violation tickets during the same period.
He said nearly 1.9 million vehicles entered Islamabad during the Eid holidays, while an average of over 650,000 motorcycles and cars headed towards various recreational spots across the city.
He said over 122,000 vehicles entered Murree through Islamabad routes during Eid.
He said the traffic police ensured uninterrupted travel services to tourists and citizens throughout the holiday period.
“There is zero tolerance for one-wheeling, rowdy behavior, and motorcycles without silencers on roads,” said Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Captain (R) Syed Zeeshan Haider.
CTO Zeeshan urged the youth to refrain from indulging in such illegal and dangerous stunts and added on Eid day, only families were allowed entry into public parks to ensure a safe environment.
“One-wheelers who endanger lives of others deserve no leniency,” said CTO Zeeshan.
He said more than 300 officers of the Islamabad Traffic Police remained deployed across the city for citizens’ assistance and facilitation.
CTO said due to efficient arrangements by the traffic police, no untoward incident was reported in the federal capital during the Eid holidays.
“Islamabad Traffic Police remains present on roads round-the-clock to serve and facilitate the public,” said CTO Zeeshan.

Bahraini Interior Minister extends Eid greetings to Mohsin Naqvi

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Bahraini Interior Minister Lieutenant General Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa held a telephone conversation with Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, extending Eid-ul-Adha greetings to him and the people of Pakistan.
During the call, the Bahraini minister expressed his best wishes for Minister Naqvi and the Pakistani nation. He also shared his intention to visit Pakistan soon.
In response, Minister Mohsin Naqvi welcomed the announcement and said Pakistan looks forward to his visit. He conveyed his own good wishes to the Bahraini leadership and people and thanked the Bahraini minister for the warm gesture.
Minister Naqvi also reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Bahrain.

Mohsin Naqvi pays tribute to martyred police constable

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has paid tribute to police constable Shahid Khan, who was martyred during an operation against Kharijite terrorists in Kot Kashmir area of Lakki Marwat.
He expressed heartfelt condolences with the family of the martyred constable. He stated that Shahid Khan bravely confronted the Kharijite terrorists and laid down his life in the line of duty, setting a remarkable example of courage and sacrifice.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that the supreme sacrifice of Constable Shahid Khan will always be remembered. He added that the police foiled the nefarious designs of the terrorists by sending three of them to hell during the operation.
He affirmed that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police were standing firm like a rock against the Kharijite terrorists. “We salute the brave sons of KP Police,” he added.

Islamabad carries out  zero-waste operation during Eid-ul-Azha

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday said that Islamabad carried out a successful zero-waste operation during the three days of Eid-ul-Azha.
A total of 2012 tons of animal waste and offal were collected from both urban and rural areas and properly disposed of.
The cleaning operation was closely monitored through drones to ensure effectiveness. The Capital Development Authority (CDA), district administration, and solid waste teams worked tirelessly throughout Eid, treating their duties as a form of service and worship.
Mohsin Naqvi praised the CDA and Islamabad Police for their excellent performance. He appreciated the timely actions taken on public complaints and the smooth coordination between institutions.
He also thanked the citizens for their full cooperation, which played a key role in the success of the cleanliness drive. He highlighted that the security arrangements made by Islamabad Police were foolproof, ensuring the safety of lives and property.
He expressed gratitude that Eid passed peacefully, with citizens performing the Sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim in a clean and secure environment.
The minister commended the dedication and professionalism of the police and law enforcement agencies and saluted the commitment of the personnel working to protect the public.

Atta Tarar condoles with PTV GM Dr Qaisar Sharif on his father’s demise

ISLAMABAD, Jun 09 (APP):Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Monday visited the residence of Dr. Qaisar Sharif, General Manager of PTV Lahore, to express condolences over the demise of his father.
The minister offered Fatiha for the departed soul and prayed to the Almighty to grant him the highest ranks in Jannah, said a news release.
 “There is no substitute to a father who is a great blessing from the Almighty,” he said while sympathizing with bereaved family.
Tarar said he shared the grief of the bereaved family and prayed to the Almighty to grant them courage to bear this irreparable loss.

Post-Hajj flight operation to begin on Tuesday; Dr  Ata Ur Rehman

JEDDAH (Saudi Arabia) , Jun 09 (APP):The post-Hajj flight operation is set to begin on Tuesday (June 10) with the maiden flight of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) PK-732 carrying 307 pilgrims.
Talking to APP here, Secretary Ministry of Religious Affairs Dr Syed Ata Ur Rehman said that the first flight would depart from King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah at 8:50 PM (local time) and was scheduled to arrive at Islamabad International Airport at 3:50 AM (local time) on Wednesday.
Similarly, he said that the first post-Hajj flight from Madinah, PK-7030 would depart for Lahore on June 12 at 3:30 PM (local time), carrying approximately 307 pilgrims and is expected to arrive in Lahore at 10:30 PM.
He said that the post-Hajj flight operation would continue till July 10. The post Hajj flight operation will conclude with last flight PK-7094 with approximately 437 Hujjaj on board from Madinah to Islamabad on July 10 at 12:30 pm, he said.
Dr Ata said that a total of over 88,000 Hujjaj, who performed Hajj under the government scheme, would be transported back to Pakistan via 362 flights.
He said over 115,000 Pakistanis fulfilled the sacred obligation of Hajj under both government and private schemes this year.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Hajj Mission has made elaborate arrangements for smooth transportation of Hujjaj back to their country, he added.
