President grieved over demise of ANP leader Haji Adeel

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday expressed profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haji Muhammad Adeel.

The President said the late leader rendered valuable services for supremacy of democracy.

Commending the role of Haji Adeel in politics, the President said that Adeel’s sacrifices for the cause of democracy will be remembered forever.

The President commiserated with the bereaved family and prayed for salvation of the departed soul.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on
Friday expressed his heartfelt condolences on the death of senior leader of Awami National Party (ANP) Haji Muhammad Adeel.

Sympathizing deeply with the deceased’s family, the Prime Minister
prayed to Almighty Allah to bless the departed soul with eternal peace and grant courage to the family to bear this irreparable loss with fortitude.

The Prime Minister said the contributions and services of the late
politician for strengthening of democracy in the country, are indeed praiseworthy.

The Prime Minister said Haji Muhammad Adeel believed and worked for
promotion of democratic norms in the country.

“He will be dearly missed by all of us”, added the Prime Minister.

10 arrested in transgender torture case: NA told

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Chaudhry Barjees Tahir Friday informed the National Assembly that the Punjab government had taken strict action against the persons involved in torturing a transgendere in Sialkot.

Speaking in the House, the minister said that soon after the incident a first information report (FIR) had been registered with the concerned police station, following which 10 accused had so far been arrested and produced before the court.

Earlier on a point of order, Chief Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai said that the Parliament should condemn
the incident and take appropriate measures to avoid such incidents
in future.

He said that federal government should ban the shipbreaking activities till formulation of the required laws.

He said that medical and fire-brigade facilities should be available at the shipbreaking yards so for safety and security of labourers working there.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Minister of State for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Marriyum Aurangzeb on Friday
expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Senator Haji
Adeel.

In a statement issued here the minister said Haji Adeel’s contribution for strengthening of the political system would be remembered.

She prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.

NA offers fateha for deceased in different incidents

ISLAMABAD Nov 18 (APP): National Assembly on Friday offered fateha
for Pakistan Peoples Party leader and former Federal Minister Jahangir Badar and father of Syed Naveed Qamar, MNA, Awami National Party’s leader Haji Adeel, father of MQM’s leader Ali Rashid, MNA and others.

The fateha was also offered for personnel of Pakistan Army martyred in unprovoked firing by Indian forces along Line of Control and for innocent people killed in Indian occupied Kashmir by Indian forces besides victims of terrorism across the country.

Feteha for the victims of terrorist attack on shrine of Hazrat Shah Noorani, inferno in oil tanker at Gadani, martyrs of Police College Quetta, deceased of Zakariya; Fareed express and Rahimyar Khan road accidents  was also offered.

The house prayed for the departed souls and for the bereaved families.

ISLAMABAD, Sept 26 (APP): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq  Friday announced the panel of chairpersons for 37th session to conduct the proceedings of the House in the absence of Speaker and Deputy Speaker.

Pervaiz Malik, Mahmood Bashir Virk, Ghulam Mustafa Shah, Iqbal Muhammad  Ali, Naeema Kishwar and Dr Ghazi Gulab Jamal would conduct the proceedings of the Lower House of the Parliament.

NA adopts resolution to condemn Indian aggression on LoC

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): The National Assembly on Friday adopted a
resolution to condemn Indian aggression at the Line of Control (LoC) and also paid rich tributes to soldiers who embraced martyrdom.

Minister of Kashmir Affairs Barjis Tahir tabled the resolution which was
unanimously adopted by the House.

The text of the resolution passed by the lower House is as follows, ”
this house, on the tragic incident at Indian unprovoked firing in which seven soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced Shahdat at the LoC in the Bhimber sector by the Indian troops during recent past, expresses its deep concern”.

Through this resolution, the House took serious cognizance of the
unprovoked and barbarian attack on Pakistani border forces by the Indian Army resulting in aggression and clashes at borders.

It strongly condemned the Indian attack causing loss of lives of
Pakistan soldiers and expressed its profound grief and sorrow over the latest incident and recognized the sacrifices of the Pakistan Army.

The House also paid rich tributes to martyrs soldier of their velour and
sacrifice.

Veteran ANP leader Haji Adeel passes away

ANP’s senior leader Haji Adeel laid to rest

ISLAMABAD, Nov 18 (APP): Senior leader of the Awami National Party (ANP) Haji muhammad Adeel passed away on Friday  morning due to kidney failure.

According to a news channel, his family sources  informed that Haji Adeel was suffering from kidney-related complications for some time.

His funeral prayers will be offered at Jinnah Park  in Peshawar on Friday at 4:15 pm.

The veteran politician served as a Senator from March 2009  to March 2015.He held several key party posts during his political career including Parliamentary Leader in Senate, Senior Vice President ANP, Finance Minister in NWFP (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa)  in 1993, Chairman Election Commission of ANP, Coordinator ANP Lawyers, member central and provincial executive committees of ANP.

He remained member of the KP Assembly in 1990, 1993 and 1997.

Jehangir Badar was man of commitment: Dar

ISLAMABAD Nov 18 (APP): Minister for Finance, Revenue, Statistics and
Economic Affairs Muhammad Ishaq Dar on Friday spoke highly of the commitment of former Senator Jehangir Badar.

Speaking in the Senate during reference about Jehangir Badar, the
minister said his unflinching commitment for the party even during military regimes makes him a model for the political workers.

“He remained commitment with his party even when he bore lashes on his  back during Ziaul Haq regime. His commitment was solid like a rock as he stood firm with his party during all ups and downs”, Dar said.

The minister also mentioned to two other examples of commitment when he  quoted the incident of naming his son as Zulfiqar Badar and chose Benazir Bhutto as topic for his Phd thesis.

Dar also recalled the student age when he and Jehangir Badar used to
study at Helley College in Lahore where Jehangir Badar was elected President. “Since, his student life he remained with PPPP and when he died he was a committed leader of his party”.

He said Jehangir Badar loved his colleagues and friends and always
shared their sorrows and delights.Despite all political differences, he was a great friend, a great leader and a great human being.

The minister also mentioned to his role in Charter of Democracy and said  his death is a great loss for the country, the Parliament and Peoples Party.

Turkish President departs for Turkey after official visit

LAHORE, Nov.17 (APP): Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan departed here on Thursday night for Turkey after a two-day official visit to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, First Lady Begum Kulsoom Nawaz, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif along with members of the Punjab cabinet and high officials were present at the Allama Iqbal International Airport to bid farewell to the distinguished guest and his delegation.
During his two-day stay, the Turkish President held one-on-one meetings with President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and also addressed joint session of the Parliament.
President Erdogan has become the first foreign dignitary who addressed joint session of the Parliament for the third time.
The Prime Minister and Turkish President also addressed a Pakistan-Turkey businessmen roundtable conference.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif hosted a banquet in honour of the Turkish President and his delegation at historic Hazoori Bagh.
First ladies Begum Kulsoom Nawaz and Emine Erdogan also attended the banquet.
A cultural show was also arranged for the Turkish President and his delegation where the guests were entertained with traditional music.
