LAHORE, Mar 18 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated president of China Xi Jin Ping
for being elected again in lieu of his second tenure.
The CM while extending his best wishes said that selection of Xi Jin Ping for second time exhibited the trust of public on his great leadership as during his rule he had made China one of the robust economy of the world in shortest time.
Under his vibrant leadership China had become the largest economic power due to his comprehensive policies, he shared.
The CM added that ideology of Xi Jin Ping was based on the highest moral values and vast thought of public welfare which had brought rapid development and progress in his country.
He said that Chinese president had played leading role for the development of China and it was due to his vision that China had achieved the target of economic development.
Shehbaz Sharif said that Pak-China friendship had been strengthened more with time and a new history of economic and trade cooperation had been engraved.

Sunday called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and discussed with him matters of mutual interest, development projects and current political situation in the country.
On this occasion, the chief minister said the general elections would prove a nightmare for those who had created hurdles in the voyage of development. The PML-N would form a government across Pakistan, including Punjab, he hoped.
Shehbaz Sharif said people were well aware of the fact that who had served them day and night and who kept lying to them, asserting, “We have not only made roads and metro but also set record of establishing schools, colleges and hospitals in the province.”
He was of the view that alliance of Zardari and Naizi was not for public service but only for power. “We are bringing about positive and pleasant changes in the people’s life and revolutionary development through mega projects in Punjab was an honour of the PML-N and all institutions should work together for development and prosperity of Pakistan,” he maintained.
He said Naizi and Zardari’s blending was actually a face saving to hide their failures and 22 million people in Pakistan would hold accountable the enemies of development in the next general elections.
While, Khawaja Saad Rafiq said the PML-N would achieve success on the basis of its performance.
CM pays tribute to services of Air Marshal Sohail Aman
LAHORE, Mar 18 (APP):Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has paid tribute to the professional services
of Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman in an agreement signing ceremony between the Punjab government and the Pakistan Air Force for formation of Fort Minro Cadet College.
According to a DGPR handout issued on Sunday, while conversing after signing the agreement, the CM said the ceremony would be the last of the initiatives of Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman for good purpose and public welfare nevertheless the way he has focused on promotion of education and social services along with his professional responsibilities will always be remembered.
Participants of the ceremony also acknowledged the services of Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman with a huge round of applause.
Peace in Karachi restored due to federal govt’s policies: Zubair
ISLAMABAD, March 18 (APP):Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair Sunday said peace in Karachi had restored due to the policies of federal government, which had launched an operation against criminals and terrorists after consultation with all the political parties.
Talking to a private news channel, he said the law and order situation in the mega city was much better as compared to the past as international investors were taking keen interest to invest in the economic hub of the country.
The governor said the federal government was not responsible to dispose of the garbage of the city, rather it was the task of local government representatives.
He said the country’s development linked with the restoration of economic activities in the Sindh metropolitan city. The mass transit project launched in collaboration with the federal government would provide comfortable transport facility to the people of Karachi, he added.
Replying to a question, he said the objective of holding social, culture and sports activities in Karachi was aimed at conveying the soft image of the country abroad.
He said the people of Sindh also wanted development in the province like Punjab. For the purpose they would have vote for representatives who would work for their welfare, he added.
Zubair said those who were criticising Punjab government for its Metro Bus service projects, had now themselves started the projects in their respective provinces.
Dera Ghazi Khan to have cadet college
LAHORE, Mar 18 (APP):Pakistan Air Force (PAF) and Punjab School Education Department (PSED) have signed an agreement to establish a cadet college in Fort Munro area of Dera Ghazi Khan.
The signing ceremony was attended by Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Khan Laghari, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman and other officials, according to a handout issued here Sunday.
PSED Secretary Dr Allah Bakhash Malik and Deputy Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shahid Akhtar Alvi signed the agreement. Under the agreement, the Punjab government would provide 100 acres of land for the Cadet College and Welfare City in Fort Munro besides a grant of Rs one billion.
Addressing the signing ceremony, the chief minister said the establishment of cadet college in Fort Munro was a cheerful moment for him, and the agreement between the Punjab government and the PAF in this regard was a welcoming step.
Shehbaz Sharif said cadet college in Fort Munro would facilitate inhabitants of Dera Ghazi Khan as well as whole Pakistan. “We have full confidence in the professional capabilities of the PAF which has an ability to defeat enemies and its services for the well-being of society are appreciable,” he said and asserted that this project of special education centre with the cooperation of the PAF and the Punjab government would be a role model.
He said the services of Air Chief Marshall Sohail Aman related to defence were undeniably imperative, however, his valuable services in the field of education to improve living standard of common man could not be ignored.
He added that Sohail Aman had multiplied glory of the PAF by four times and his efforts to ensure security of air boundaries of the motherland were commendable.
On this occasion, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman said providing education and other facilities to public was a joyful and gratifying honour for him. Not only a cadet college or public school but Fort Munro would look like a great city, he assured.
The PAF, he mentioned, was pride of the nation as it was now self-sufficient for making modern appliances also its aircraft and other instruments were self-exemplary.
On the establishment of educational institutions, he said, “We are grateful to the Punjab government for their cooperation as we have to rely on education and technology if we want to change destiny of our country and nation.”
He added that the Punjab chief minister had made a great contribution in the mission of public service and assured that the PAF would meet the expectations of the nation.

PML-N to win next election due to its performance: Muqam
SWAT, March 18 (APP):Advisor to the Prime Minister Engineer Amir Muqam Sunday said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would win next general election on the basis of its performance.
The popularity of the PML-N could be gauged from the fact that its supreme leader former prime minister was given a warm welcome by the people in every nook and cranny of the country, which was also because of the progressive policies adopted by his government for the betterment of the country, he added.
He was addressing a public gathering here at Dherai, Kabal tehsil, where he inaugurated Sui gas supply project in the area. District Nazim Muhammad Ali Shah, Qamoos khan, Habib Ali Shah and other local leaders were also present on the occasion.
Amir Muqam, who is also president of PML-N KP, said the people of Swat loved Nawaz Sharif and they would vote for the PML-N in the next general election. The PML-N during its current tenure had launched many mega development across the country and it would initiate more projects after coming into power again, he added.
He said the PML-N was the only party which could steer the country out of crises.
Muqam said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan had no agenda and basis to ask the people to vote for him as his party’s government had done nothing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said Imran claimed of building 350 dams in KP, which was contrary to ground realty. Not even a single dam was constructed in the province, he added.
Muqam alleged that the PTI government had done nothing to solve problems being faced by the KP people. It had rather added to their miseries, which would take years to remove, he added.
He said the far flung areas of Malakand division were ignored and the PML-N if voted to power, would bring a real change in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Muqam said on one hand Imran criticised Pakistan Peoples Party leader Asif Zardari terming him the most corrupt persosn and on the other he supported his party in the Senate election.
Mandviwalla visits mausoleum of Bhutto family’s martyrs

LARKANA, Mar 18 (APP):Deputy Chairman Senate Saleem Mandviwalla visited the mausoleum of the martyrs of Bhutto family at Garhi Khuda Bux Bhutto, here on Sunday.
The Deputy Chairman Senate, who was accompanied by Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Rashid Rabbani, MPA Javeed Ahmed Nagori, Ajiz Dhamrah, Sarwar Ranjah, Haji Khair Muhammad Shaikh, Saleem Soomro, Aijaz Leghari, Ghulam Mustafa Leghari, leaders and workers of the PPP and others remained there for some time.
He visited the graves of Founder Chairman of PPP and Former prime minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, PPP Chairperson Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, Madar-e-Jamhooriat Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto and Mir Shahnawaz Bhutto. He laid wreaths at the graves and also offered Fateha.
Deputy Chairman Senate also visited the grave of Shireen Amir Begum, the first wife of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and laid floral wreath at the grave.
Federal govt’s development projects to facilitate Karachiites: Zubair
KARACHI, Mar 18 (APP):Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair said that Karachiites will get modern facilities after the completion
of development projects worth Rs 75 billion initiated by the federal
government in the metropolis.
He said this while addressing the annual ceremony of English
Speaking Union of Pakistan, according to a statement issued by the
Governor House, here on Sunday.
He said that under the Karachi Development Package various
projects of Rs 25 billion are in progress in the city while
many other projects have been initiated worth Rs 50 billion
through the federal government’s development funds.
The Governor said that Karachi is once again becoming the
city of lights because of positive steps taken by the government.
He said that the federal government has initiated various
projects in the city, including water, Green Line bus project
and other schemes. He said that the government has also completed
long-awaited Lyari Express Way project.
Muhammad Zubair said that world is recognising Pakistan’s
economic stability, peace and its importance for attraction of
investment.
The Governor Sindh said that by the government efforts the
country has not only become peaceful but the energy shortage has
also been overcome and the economy has become stable.
He said because of government’s steps Pakistan has joined the
fasting progressing countries of the world.
Muhammad Zubair said that he is confident that Pakistan has
a bright future. He said that recent international surveys also
acknowledged improvement in the country’s economy.
He said that Pakistan has a lot of natural resources and its
60 percent population comprises of youths.
On the occasion Aziz Memon, Majeed Aziz, Abdul Qadir Jafer
and consul generals of various countries and a large number of
citizens were also present.
Majeed Aziz also addressed the ceremony and thanked the
Governor Sindh for his role in the progress of Karachi.
UVAS’s Narowal Sub campus inaugurated
LAHORE, March 18 (APP):Federal Minister for Interior, Planning Development & Reforms Prof Ahsan Iqbal has inaugurated University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences’s Narowal Sub-Campus “Khan Bahadur Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad Para-Veterinary School Narowal”.
The school has been named after Ahsan Iqbal’s grand father Khan Bahadur Chaudhry Mushtaq Ahmad in recognition of his meritorious services for the promotion of veterinary profession.
Vice Chancellor Prof.Dr Talat Naseer Pasha, UVAS Syndicate Member & Ex-President Lahore Chamber of Commerce Mr Abdul Basit, Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association Dr Arshad Hanif Chouhdary, Narowal District Chairman Ahmad Iqbal, School Principle Prof DrRana Muhammad Younus, Manager Regulatory Affairs Engro Food Dr Muhammad Nasir and a large number of public from civil society, UVAS faculty members, farmers and livestock officials attended the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Ahsan Iqbal said the para-veterinary school in Narowal would bring revolution in the area through education. He said the livestock sector had been neglected in past, therefore it was direly needed to develop our livestock system by producing trained young agrarians and veterinarians in the country.
He said agriculture was the backbone of the country’s economy and livestock was its integral part, so livestock sector development was the key to revival of crisis-hit agriculture sector.
He said the government was willing to give more assistance for the promotion of veterinary profession and producing trained veterinary human resource in Narowal, adding very soon the para-veterinary school would be upgraded to a university.
He said the young veterinarians to be produced by the school would resolve all issues facing livestock, poultry and dairy industries of Pakistan.
He said our young veterinarians would also play a vital role in the development of national economy by enhancing milk and meat production through innovative research and latest methodologies.
He said it was direly needed that every person performs his duty with full dedication for national development.
He said Narowal city would be recognized as one of the best livestock city of Pakistan in future.
The minister said the government was focusing on development of infrastructure, human resource, agricultures and livestock for which collective efforts were needed.
He said: “We should give up leg pulling and not be a part of any kind of political conspiracies which hamper progress of our country”.
He praised UVAS leadership for the completion of Para Veterinary School project successfully in a short period of 15 months. He said there were ample opportunities in livestock/agriculture in the Pak-China Economic Corridor (CPEC) and we should get maximum benefit from them.
He called for enhancing the agriculture productivity through application of innovative knowledge, technology and methodologies. For the promotion of education and research in the area, he said, different universities sub campuses are being set up at Narowal under Vision 2025.
He hoped that Pakistan would soon become an Asian tiger.
Prof.Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said three professional programmes/courses including Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), Livestock Assistant Diploma and six-month short course of Artificial Insemination of NAVTTC had been started November 2017 in Narowal Campus. He praised Khan Bahadur Chaudhary Mushtaq Ahmad’s unforgettable efforts for the uplift of veterinary profession.
He thanked Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal for providing assistance in developing the school project.
Dr Pasha said the school had cost Rs.195.280 million and it had been completed in 15 months. The school was equipped with state of the art facilities while four of its faculty members are PhD, he added.
The school was comprised of spacious classrooms, a dispensary, animal shed, administration offices, state-of-the-art laboratories and student hostel, he said.
The Vice-Chancellor said UVAS had been ranked not only among top Asian Universities but also among world universities in Times Higher Education World University Ranking and QS World Top University Ranking.
He said Narowal disease diagnosis system had been made functional for the benefit of poor livestock farming community.
Dr Arshad Hanif Chouhdary and Dr Muhammad Nasir also spoke on the occasion and recommended starting a school meal programme to curb the malnutrition issues especially in school going children by serving them a glass of milk and egg regularly in class rooms.
PPA and Engro food representatives were willing to provide their full support to government for healthy nutrition school meal programme, they said.
Earlier, Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal along with Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Pasha visited different laboratories including microbiology lab, biochemistry lab, nutrition lab, anatomy, histology, physiology and computer labs, library, student hostels, classrooms and conference room, etc, of the school.
Haider lambastes New Delhi for continued target killing of civilians on LoC
MIRPUR (AJK), March 18 (APP): Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that target killing of innocent civilians on Line of Control are gutless attacks of Indian armed Forces.
Prime Minister said this in forward area of Nikayal close to Line of Control in Kotli district of Mirpur division on Sunday.
PM, AJk inquired about the health of those injured due to unprovoked Indian firing on LOC besides their treatment and facilities being provided to them.
Prime Minister stated that Indian armed forces acts are inhuman and they must know that civilians living along LOC are not going to leave their homes.
“I came here to express my solidarity with the people living along LOC who bravely face Indian atrocities on daily basis” Farooq maintained.
Prime Minister said that Pak Army in response of Indian forces ceasefire violations on LOC have never targeted innocent civilians as they are our brethren who are fronting Indian brutalities in Indian occupied Kashmir.
PM AJK said, “More than 5 lacs people are living on LOC and their defense is only Pak Army.”
Prime Minister maintained that Indian armed forces have started targeting civilian population and their aggression is to push this population behind LOC to create administrative problems and to weak the defense system.”
PM, AJK demanded the United Nations and other international human rights organizations to come and witness Indian ceasefire violations, “I have acknowledged that recently UN mission on their visit to LOC have witnessed Indian atrocities and we will be looking forward to UN for their justice regarding Human rights violations
besides ceasefire violations” he said.
Prime Minister also directed the concerned authorities and administration to provide all basic health facilities to the victims of Indian firing, “any kind of negligence regarding treatment of injured is intolerable” he added.
He also added that incumbent government is endeavoring to prepare safety bunkers for civilians before long.
