Govt allocates Rs4,336 mln for ministry of education and professional training

ISLAMABAD, April 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs4,336.508 million under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for ongoing and new schemes of the federal education and professional training for fiscal years 2018-19.
According to the budgetary documents here on Friday, a total of Rs2843.508 million has been allocated for ongoing schemes, while Rs1,493 million were allocated for the new schemes of the education ministry.
Among ongoing schemes, Rs1,200 million has been allocated for establishment and operation of Basic Education Community Schools in the country. While, Rs1,500 million has been allocated for improving Human Development Indicators Education related in Pakistan by National Commission for Human Development (NCHD).
Among new schemes Rs600 million has been allocated for establishment of 400 Vocational Training Institutes (VTI’s) across the country with sharing of 50 percent with provinces. While, Rs250 million were allocated for standardization of national examination system across the country.

Govt allocates Rs46,680 mln for higher education sector

ISLAMABAD, April 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs46,680 million under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the ongoing and new schemes of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) during fiscal years 2018-19.
According to the budgetary document on Friday, out of total amount, around Rs40218 million has been allocated for ongoing schemes, while, Rs6462 million has been allocated for new schemes.
Among ongoing schemes, Rs516 million has been allocated for Centre for Mathematical Science (CMS) at PIEAS Islamabad while, around Rs580 million has also been allocated for development of Fatima Jinnah Women University, Campus-II (Phase-2) Chakri Road Rawalpindi.
Rs600 million has been allocated for enhancement of Research Facilities at University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS), Ravi Campus Pattoki, as well as Rs1000 million has also been allocated establishment of Sub-Campus of Public Sector Universities at district level.
Further, the government has been allocated Rs800 million for the establishment of Technology Development Fund for HEC scholars returning after completion of PhD to introduce new technologies application in Pakistan.
While, Rs600 million were allocated for Fulbright Scholarship Support Program HEC-USAID (Phase-II) and Rs 500 million has been allocated for strengthening and up gradation of Universities of Backward area.
Among new schemes, Rs316 million has been allocated for construction of Hostel/Sports facilities at Karakoram International University (KIU), as well as Rs300 million has also been allocated for establishment of University of Murree.
Furthermore, the government has also allocated Rs100 million for Pakistan Academy of Social Sciences, while Rs100 million has also been allocated for the Prime Minister University Olympic.
The government has also allocated Rs200 million for establishment of National University of Sports.

Govt allocates Rs 15237 mln for projects initiated under CADD

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated a total sum of Rs 15237 million for the Capital Administration and Development
Division (CADD) under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) in the fiscal year 2018-19.
According to the budgetary documents here Friday, Rs 8377 million have been allocated for Physical Planning
and Housing, while Rs 4208 million have been allocated for the health sector of Islamabad Capital Territory
(ICT) under ministry CADD.
Furthermore, the government has also allocated a sum of Rs 2651 million for the educational institutions
of the ICT.
Among ongoing schemes, Rs 7000 million have been allocated for the signal-free project of Islamabad Expressway
(Phase-III), while Rs 400 million have been allocated for the establishment of Centre for Hematology Disorder
at PIMS, Islamabad.
While, Rs 845 million have been allocated for the renovation/rehabilitation of Physical Infrastructure of 200
educational institutions under Prime Minister Education Reforms Programme in ICT.
Among new scheme, Rs 500 million were allocated for conduction of water from Indus river system of
Tarbella Dam for Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
While, Rs 735 million have been allocated for the replacement/up-gradation HVAC Plant Room equipment and
allied works at PIMS, Islamabad.
Furthermore, the government has also allocated Rs 200 million for the establishment of Smart Schools in ICT
while, Rs 100 million has also been allocated for the establishment of Islamabad Model College for Boys
G-13/1 Islamabad.

Rs 4700 mln allocated for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs 4700 million for three new and one ongoing projects of the National Space Agency (SPARCO) under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2018-19.
The budgetary allocation includes Rs 2550 million for three new schemes, including Rs 1350 million for Pakistan Multi-Mission Satellite (PakSat-MMI), Lahore and Karachi, Rs 1000 million for Pakistan Space Center (PSC), Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi (China), and Rs 200 million for Establishment of Space Applications Research Center Gilgit-Baltistan (9SPARC-GB).
Similarly, Rs 2150 million has been reserved for the ongoing scheme of Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS) Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad (China).
The new projects allocation includes Rs 1550 million foreign assistance while Rs 1000 million will be managed from the indigenous resources. The contribution of foreign funding for the on-going scheme of Pakistan Remote Sensing Satellite (PRSS) Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad (China) is Rs 1116.281 million among the total amount of Rs 2150 million while the remaining amount of Rs 1033.719 million will be managed from the indigenous resources.

Agri credit to soar around Rs800 bln

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):The agriculture credit is set to soar to Rs800 billion by the end of this year which stood around Rs570 billion in February 2018, said minister for Finance Miftah Ismail in his budget speech.

Non-filers banned from purchase of property worth Rs4 mln

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):The non filers cannot purchase property worth Rs4 million in the next fiscal year whereas the filers would have to only pay one per cent tax on purchase of properties.
The step was announced by minister for finance Miftah Ismail during his 2018-19 budget speech in the National Assembly.

Pakistan beaten by Malaysia, fails to qualify for semi-finals

LAHORE, Apr 27 (APP):Pakistan’s dream to move into the
semi-finals of qualifying round of the Youth Olympics Hockey
Competition fail to come true when Bangladesh made a grand
comeback in the dying stages of the match to stanch a 3-3
draw on Friday at Bangkok, Thailand.
Pakistan were leading 3-1 with just three minutes left,
but Bangladesh managed to score twice to make it 3-3, their
third goal came in the last minute, said the information made
available to APP here. By ensuring a draw, Bangladesh made it
to the semi-finals.
After losing 1-12 to Malaysia in the morning, Pakistan
needed to beat Bangladesh in their last pool match to qualify
for the semi-finals.
From the other pool, India and South Korea have qualified
for the semi-finals.

Rs 36.050 mln allocated for constructing additional block at Haji camp Peshawar

ISLAMABAD, April 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated a sum of Rs36.050 million for the construction of additional residential block and allied services at Directorate of Hajj, Peshawar for the financial year 2018-19 under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
According to budgetary document, the estimated cost of the project is Rs51.050 million. While Rs15 million were being spent on the project by June 30, 2018 under current financial year’s PSDP allocations. The rest Rs36.050 million has been allocated for completing the project during the next financial year starting from July 1, 2018.

Govt allocates Rs 72,255 mln for power division

ISLAMABAD, Apr 27 (APP):The government has earmarked Rs.72,255.424 million for various ongoing and new schemes power projects under Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) for next fiscal year 2018-19.
According to the budgetary documents, an amount of Rs.65,099.054 million has been earmarked for ongoing 47 hydel projects
while Rs.7,156 million for 18 new schemes in the PSDP 2018-19.
For ongoing schemes, the government has specified Rs.5,100 million for 500 KV Islamabad West, Rs,3000 million for 500
KV Faisalabad New, Rs.2,100 million for 220 kV Mirpur Khas, Rs.3,000 million for construction of 500 KV Transmission Line
(Guddu), Rs.1,500 million for Extension of Existing grid stations,, Rs.27,108.481 million for installation of 2×600 MW coal fired power project (Jamshoro), Rs.1,100 million for interconnection of scheme for import of power from CASA-1000, Rs.1466.130 million for power distribution enhancement project (LESCO), Rs 1, 000 million for reinforcement of existing 220 kV Guddu-Uch- Sibi single
circuit transmission.
For new schemes, a sum of Rs.2,000 million has been allocated for interconnection of isolated Makran network at Bisma,
Rs.1000 million evacuation of power from Dasu HPP stage-1 and Rs.550 million for evacuation of power from Tarbela 5th extension project.

Govt allocates Rs40,000 mln for Railways Division

ISLAMABAD, April 27 (APP):The federal government has allocated Rs40,000 million for the various ongoing and new schemes of Railways Division for the financial years 2018-19 under the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP).
The allocation include Rs 27753.983 million for 29 ongoing projects and Rs 12246.017 million for 10 new schemes, according to budgetary document issued here on Friday.
For the ongoing schemes, an amount of Rs7000 million has earmarked for procurement and manufacturing of 75 diesel electric locomotives of different horse power.
An amount of Rs3569.934 million has been reserved for preliminary design study of upgradation and rehabilitation of Mainline-1 (ML-1) and construction of new dry port and cargo handling facility at Havelian (Buldher), District Haripur.
Similarly, an amount of Rs3000 million has been earmarked for procurement and manufacturing of 820 high capacity of bogies freight wagons and 230 passenger coaches.
An amount of Rs2000 million has been set aside for reconstruction and rehabilitation of assets damaged during 2010 flood, while Rs1704.557 million earmarked for rehabilitation of assets during the riots of December 27-28 2007.
For the new schemes an amount of Rs5000 million has been reserved for upgradation of Pakistan Railways’ existing Mainline-1 (ML-1) and establishment of Dry Port near Havelian (2018-22) Phase-1, under China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC).
An amount of Rs4546 million has been reserved for acquisition of land for Railway Corridor from Sea Port Km: 5.25 to Km 9.00 and Railway operational land from: 12.00 to Km: 14.00 at Gwadar.
