JI’s vocational project ‘Bano Qabil’ to produce skilled workforce

ISLAMABAD, Aug 08 (APP): Qudsia Namoos, Nazima of the Women’s Wing of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Islamabad on Friday said the launch of Jamaat-e-Islami’s vocational training programme ‘Bano Qabil’ in Islamabad, following its success in other parts of the country, would lead to production of skilled workforce.
Speaking during a meet-up with women journalists, she said that in view of the multiple challenges Pakistan was facing, a skilled workforce was the need of the hour.

She expressed hope that ‘Bano Qabil’ would prove to be a ray of hope for the people of Islamabad. She informed that registration for the programme has already begun.

She urged the women journalists to raise maximum public awareness about the programme so that more people in Islamabad can benefit from it, earn a livelihood, and contribute to the country’s progress.
She highlighted Jamaat-e-Islami’s role in serving humanity, adding that the party had launched several nationwide programmes that received overwhelming public support and earned the trust of the people.
She said that although Jamaat-e-Islami had no current parliamentary representation, it remained committed to humanitarian service and to promoting the teachings of Islam.
At the end, a question-and-answer and discussion session was held, in which women journalists actively participated and shared their views and suggestions.
Qudsia Namoos appreciated their input and assured them that all suggestions would be included in the next agenda, which would help further improve Jamaat-e-Islami’s image and define its proactive role in the country.
On the occasion, Deputy Nazima Islamabad Atiya Tayyab; Incharge Media Cell Sadia Saif; Incharge Publications Islamabad Sajida Absar; and Incharge Publications Rawalpindi Madiha Rehman were also present at the occasion and shared their views.

Ready to hold talks with opposition on national issues: Amir Muqam

PESHAWAR, Aug 08 (APP): Federal Minister and President of Pakistan Muslim League (N), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Engineer Amir Muqam here Friday said that they are ready to negotiate with the opposition on national issues.
If they want to hold talks on these matters, we will welcome it. However, they do not seem to have time for such discussions, he said.
He said the government has nothing to do with the decision regarding the Opposition Leader and it was made by the court.
Speaking to the media in Swabi, Federal Minister Engineer Amir Muqam said that as far as the Opposition Chamber is concerned, it is still intact. The decision regarding the Opposition Leader was made by the court, and the government has no involvement in it.
He added, “If the opposition wants to discuss national issues, we are prepared for it. We will welcome such talks, listen to them, and accept their positive suggestions. But the opposition doesn’t have time to talk about national matters.”
The Federal Minister said that the entire nation observed August 5 as Kashmir Exploitation Day, but the opposition observed it as Imran Exploitation Day and tried to create division.
In response to a question about changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, he said, “They may have a majority in the assembly, but there are internal divisions among them.”
He concluded by saying, “This year, on the occasion of August 14, we will celebrate Independence Day along with the victory of the battle for truth.”

Shaza, GSMA team talk about future cooperation, spectrum reforms

ISLAMABAD, Aug 08 (APP): Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Shaza Fatima Khawaja met a high-level GSMA delegation on Friday to discuss future cooperation and spectrum reforms.
The GSMA team included Julian Gorman, Head of Asia Pacific, Jeanette Whyte, Head of Public Policy for Asia Pacific, and Saira Faisal, Country Lead for Pakistan.
Shaza said she regretted missing the recent GSMA event due to an important meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office but congratulated the team on its success.
She praised the progress made so far and said she was confident the next edition would be “even bigger and more impactful.” The GSMA members agreed with her remarks.
Julian Gorman said they had a productive meeting on ways to speed up Pakistan’s digital transformation.
He appreciated the minister’s commitment to ensuring inclusivity and said the GSMA was ready to support these efforts.
Shaza told the delegation the Prime Minister was taking a keen interest in spectrum-related issues and that the government was committed to building infrastructure for the future.
The GSMA team reaffirmed their support for Pakistan’s digital goals and agreed to strengthen cooperation on policies that would encourage innovation, attract investment, and promote inclusive growth in the ICT sector.

Minister Abbasi hails Armed Forces for foiling terrorist infiltration near Afghan border

ISLAMABAD, Aug 08 (APP): Federal Minister for Railways Muhammad Hanif Abbasi on Friday commended the bravery and professionalism of Pakistani soldiers for thwarting a major infiltration attempt by terrorists along the Afghan border.
In a statement, Abbasi lauded the military’s successful operation that led to the elimination of 33 militants reportedly linked to subversive activities in Balochistan.
He said the swift and decisive response by the armed forces was a testament to their unwavering commitment to national security.
“The sacrifices of our armed forces in the fight against terrorism are unparalleled,” Abbasi remarked. “Those who seek to disrupt Pakistan’s peace will always face a resolute and united response.”
Abbasi stated that the terrorists have been decisively vanquished, heralding the start of a new era of peace in the country. He added that terrorism has suffered a crippling defeat, and the nation remains firmly united alongside the Pakistan Armed Forces.
