Participants of PTI’s rally not allowed to block roads, raise anti-state slogans

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP): District administration Islamabad has conditionally allowed the PTI rally to move towards Rawat from Koral Chowk and asked the organisers to ensure participants remain peaceful during the movement, Islamabad police said.

In a tweet, the capital police said section 144 will remain in place in areas other than the route permitted for the march.

Under the conditions, participants won’t be allowed to block any road, vandalise public property, or raise anti-state slogans.

Police warned of action if any of the rally participants were spotted carrying arms or violating the prescribed code.

A traffic plan would be also issued to ensure smooth flow of traffic.

It is to mention that PTI has been granted NOC by the Islamabad administration to hold a rally in the Capital but on 35 conditions.

PTI has been given the permission to hold peaceful rally on the application of party leader Ali Nawaz Awan.

A deal between PTI and Islamabad administration was made in which 35 conditions were made.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner issued the NOC to PTI for holding a rally from Koral Chowk to Chak Beili Rawat.

The Islamabad DC cautioned the PTI that their rally is not allowed to alter the route fixed already.

Any deviation from the rally route will ultimately lead to cancellation of the NOC, the DC added.

AC seals 6 CNG stations for violating load shedding schedule

ABBOTTABAD, Nov 19 (APP): Assistant Commissioner Abbottabad Saqlain Saleem on Saturday sealed six Compress Natural Gas (CNG) filling stations those were filling vehicles during the gas load management time and warned others.

According to sources, owing to low gas pressure Sui Northern Gas Pipe Lines Limited (SNGPL), Hazara region issued a load shedding schedule from 6am to 9am and 4pm to 9pm for CNG stations.

Many CNG stations at Karakoram Highway (KKH), Mansehra Road, City areas and Chinar road were violating the schedule and were found filling the vehicles during the load shedding time.

AC Abbottabad sealed six of the CNG stations and warned others.

At the occasion, Saqlain Saleem said that they would not spare the violator of the load-shedding schedule and would bound them to follow the rules and regulations.

Earlier on, the AC also inspected various markets of the city and checked the prices of essential and food items, on the occasion, Saqlain Saleem sealed five shops at the main Bazar, Gurdwara Gali, Tanchi Chowk, Kutchery Chowk and other markets and imposed heavy fines on many shopkeepers for violating the price list issued by the district administration.

BISP completes 97% cash relief disbursement among flood affectees: Kundi

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Poverty Alleviation and Social Safety Faisal Karim Kundi has said that over ninety-seven percent of the flood-affected population has so far been provided with financial assistance.

Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, he said that an amount of Rs 25,000 per family is being provided to the flood-affected families in a transparent way, and out of 2,759,601 families 2,687,926 have received financial assistance. He reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to fully rehabilitate the flood-affected people

He said Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is planning to launch a dynamic survey from 15 December to register more deserving families affected recently by devastating floods.

He said an MOU in this regard has been signed with National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA). He said beneficiaries of BISP are 8.2 million which would rise to around nine million after this survey.

He said world leaders have acknowledged the positive role of Pakistan during Sharm El-Sheikh Climate Change Conference.

ISLAMABAD, Nov 19 (APP): First Lady Samina Alvi on Saturday inaugurated a facility here aimed at preserving and promoting Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and supporting the women artisans from various parts of the country.

The first lady inaugurated the new office of Indus Heritage Trust – a non-profit organisation engaged in preserving and promoting the country’s heritage of arts and crafts while empowering the communities.

The facility marked the display of various women-created products including shirts, jackets, shawls, jewellery and bags besides homewares including embroidered cushions, mats and tea cozies.

First lady inaugurates facility to promote artisans' works, empower womenThe first lady took a round of the new office and appreciated the skills of the artisans which she believed would also help financially empower the women, particularly those living in the backward communities.

Supporting a network of around 5,000 women in Sindh, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the IHT is working to enhance and strengthen the skills of artisans to help them create high-quality handcrafted products and to create a sustainable future for rural communities.

The first lady also cut a cake to mark the occasion and wished the organisation to achieve more milestones by enhancing its outreach to more women.

Women from different walks of life including business and diplomatic corps attended the event and took a keen interest in the handcrafted products.

Talking to APP, the IHT Chairperson Siddiqa Saeed Malik said the Trust was serving to empower and skill train the women and lauded the first lady’s devotion to support the cause.

She said whether it was the 2022 floods or those of 2010, or any other calamities, the IHT supported the distressed women by guiding them to business opportunities.

Dengue cases decreased in Punjab

LAHORE, Nov 19 (APP):The number of dengue cases decreasing gradually in the province due to the start of winter season as the Health department on Saturday recorded 78 cases
while no death was reported during the last 24 hours.


A total of 17,926 cases of dengue virus have been reported so far during the
current year while 41 people died of the virus and 709 patients are under treatment
in different hospitals of the province.


The Punjab Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department (P&SHD) has reported 43 cases of dengue
in Lahore, 13 in Multan, 5 in Gujranwala, 3 in Nankana Sahib,
2 in Sialkot, 1 in Chakwal, 4 in Kasur, 1 in Muzaffargarh, 2 in Narowal, 1 in Jhang, 1 in Mandi
Bahauddin, 1 in Khanewal and 1 in Pakppatan.


All suspected cases of dengue have been kept in surveillance and their tests are being conducted.
The anti-dengue squad working under the P&SHD has killed dengue larvae at 1899 places in the province
during continuous daily surveillance. The squad conducted surveillance at 468,251 indoor
and 117,942 outdoor places to detect dengue larvae during the last 24 hours.


The P&SHD urged the people to adopt precautionary measures and keep their environment clean and dry to protect themselves from dengue.

130 more people affected by dengue virus in KP

PESHAWAR, Nov 19 (APP): As many as 130 more people are affected by the dengue virus in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and now the number of people affected by the virus in the province has surged to 21,870, an official of the Health Department told the media, here, on Saturday.

The maximum number of cases reported in Peshawar is 58 with total cases increasing to 9,218, the official disclosed.

He said 13 dengue cases were reported in Mardan with the total number of cases surging to 4,015,

Moreover, 18 new cases were reported in Lower Dir; 17 in Bannu, and 16 in Swabi, he informed.

During the last 24 hours, 8 more patients have been admitted to the hospital and now the total number of patients has increased to 24. He said that eighteen people died due to dengue in the province so far this year.

News about World Television Day may be shared via print, online and broadcast media. Television and radio bloggers may write comments, editors may write in the editors’ columns, and writers, academics and journalists may write feature articles about the meaning behind this event.

Educational institutions may mark World Television Day on their calendars and educators may use this day as an opportunity to invite guest speakers to discuss media and communication issues relating to television. Discussion topics may include: how television promotes cultural diversity and a common understanding; the links between democracy and television; and the role of television in social, political and economic developments.

The UN acknowledges that television can be used to educate many people about the world, its issues and real stories that happen on the planet. Television is one of the most influential forms of media for communication and information dissemination.

CPO orders foolproof security for PTI long march

RAWALPINDI, Nov 19 (APP):City Police Officer (CPO) Rawalpindi, Syed Shehzad Nadeem Bukhari on Saturday said that foolproof security arrangements had been made for the security of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) long march.

CPO said that all available resources were being utilized to provide best possible security cover to the long march.
According to a police spokesman, Rawalpindi district police had finalized all the security arrangements for the long march.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Operations, Waseem Riaz Khan was monitoring the security arrangements while Superintendent of Police, Saddar and other senior police officers were checking point wise duty and briefing the police personnel.

Rawalpindi district Police, administration and Rescue-1122 have finalized all the arrangements for the long march.
Police personnel including commandos from the Elite Force and sharpshooters were deployed to provide foolproof security cover to the long march upon entering the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi district.

The Rawalpindi administration had finalised the traffic, security and Rescue-1122 plans for the movement of rallies of PTI heading towards Rawalpindi to stage a protest. As per the programme of PTI, the leadership of PTI would be heading the rallies.

Deputy Superintendent of Police, Traffic Headquarters Raja Nisar was monitoring all the arrangements, he added.
Special diversion plans were also finalized to regulate traffic on city roads during the long march and public meeting.

Enhanced number of traffic wardens would be deployed on alternative routes to ease traffic flow and facilitate the road users, he said adding, CTP would also try to spread awareness about up-to-date traffic situation through FM 88.6 and social media.

Rawalpindi police have formulated a comprehensive security plan for maintaining law and order until the protesters leave Rawalpindi.

According to a police spokesman, over 10,000 personnel would be deployed to ensure security while 750 traffic wardens and officers would also be deployed to ensure foolproof traffic arrangements in Rawalpindi.

He informed that over 400 Elite commandos would be on security duty during the long march. Additional police force would be deployed on Murree Road and other routes of the long march while the teams of Elite and Dolphin forces were patrolling in different areas to check law and order situation.

Over 100 snipers and police officials would be stationed atop buildings on the route of the long march.
Rawalpindi district police had also made foolproof security arrangements for safety of the long march container and 2500 police personnel would be deployed in the inner cordon.

Monitoring of the long march route was being conducted through CCTV cameras while four special vehicles equipped with CCTV cameras facility were also being used to monitor the security of the long march routes.

On the directives of City Police Officer, Rawalpindi, senior police officers would remain in the field to check field duties and brief the police personnel.

Elite Force, Dolphin and personnel of other units had also been deployed to make all the security arrangements foolproof.
Rescue-1122 have also finalized all the arrangements for the long march.

According to a Rescue-1122 spokesman, Rescue-1122 on the directives of District Emergency Officer, Rawalpindi had declared code red across Rawalpindi district.

Special Rescue-1122 teams had been deployed in two shifts while more than 300 rescuers to provide emergency cover to the long march participants.

Rescue-1122 vehicles of other districts of Rawalpindi division would also be available in case of any emergency, he added.
He said, Rescue-1122 to remain on high alert during the long march.

Symposium on Sino-Pak bio-health agriculture demonstration park held

BEIJING, Nov. 19 (APP): The 4th International Symposium on the Belt and Road Bio-health Agriculture and the Development of Sino-Pak Bio-health Agriculture Oversea Sci-tech Demonstration Park was held at Northwest A&F University (NWAFU), Yangling, China.

At the symposium, 22 keynote reports were delivered on bio-immunity and bio-protein technology, healthy seed industry, bio-information technology, smart agriculture technology and healthy animal husbandry.

The latest developments of the Sino-Pak Bio-health Agriculture Oversea Sci-tech Demonstration Park were introduced, CEN reported.

According to Bao Dai, Vice General Manager, Pakistan Subsidiary Co., Ltd, China, Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC), the joint demonstration park will be constructed in three phases.

In the first phase, a demonstration area will be established to plant crops with low input and high value addition. In the second phase, more will be invested in high-tech agricultural products. Joint efforts will also be made in talent training and agricultural laboratory establishment. The third phase will focus on agricultural macro monitoring management and big data.

“Biohealth Agriculture” (BHA) was put forward by NWAFU Professor Zhang Lixin in 2017 at the first International Symposium on the Belt and Road Bio-health.

It refers to the use of biological means for safe and quality agricultural production, involving the sustainability of the health of soil, plants, animals, humans, and ecosystems by lessening or excluding external agricultural inputs, especially pesticides and synthetic chemical fertilizers or other hazardous/toxic chemicals.

At the University of Lahore, field trials are underway and the application of nano biochar has proved effective in improving the yield of Okra, gourd, and eggplant. Youth are being trained in collaboration with the Government of Pakistan under the Kamyab Jawan Project.

Research is also carried out on promoting vegetable production through bio-healthy agriculture, physiological perspectives of salt tolerance in wheat, impacts of biofertilizers on salt stress tolerance and maize, bio-health nano fertilizers adoption and applications for sustainable and climate-resilient farming in Pakistan, production of bioactive oligosaccharides from cress seed mucilage through microbial bioprocessing, etc.

By sharing new technologies and crop varieties, the project aims to modernize Pakistan’s agriculture, increase productivity, and lift more people out of poverty.

The symposium was also attended by scholars from the United States, Canada, Pakistan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Sudan, Rwanda, etc.

During the 5-day event, participants visited the science & technology park of local enterprises and held exchange meetings in Yangling Demonstration Zone.

UNICEF, the United Nations Children’s Fund, promotes and coordinates this special day, which also works towards improving children’s welfare.

The day promotes the welfare of and understanding between children.

The theme for this year’s International Children’s Day is, “Inclusion, for every child”. This theme means that every child belonging to any society, community or nationality is entitled to equal rights. It also emphasizes on the eradication of discrimination among children of various civilizations.

Many schools and other educational institutions make a special effort to inform children of their rights according to the Declaration of the Rights of the Child and the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Teachers stimulate their pupils to think about the differences between themselves and others and explain the idea of “rights”.
