Pakistani cuisines contribute towards Beijing diverse food culture

BEIJING, Oct 5 (APP):Pakistani restaurants present one of the tastiest cuisines in the world based on a long historic tradition and cooking excellence and contribute towards Beijing diverse food culture.

Little Lahore, one of the best Pakistani restaurants in the Chinese capital, offers a wide range of fresh authentic and delicious Pakistani food. Some well-known are Chicken Biryani, Samosas, Golgappa, Seekh Kababs and Lassi.
Pakistani cuisines are not only popular among the Pakistani customers but also liked by the Chinese people.

Asif Jalil, the owner of Little Lahore informed that Pakistani food especially the traditional desi dishes are very popular in China and now the Chinese are developing Pakistani food taste.

He informed that nationals of other countries also like Pakistani food and they regularly visit his outlet and enjoy different dishes.

Maqsad, a student based in Beijing and hailing from a Central Asian country told APP that Pakistani food is unique in its taste; that’s why people from different regions are taking so much interest in Pakistani cuisines.

He and his friends visit Pakistani restaurants and enjoy biryani, chicken masala, kababs, lassi and naan along with various other Pakistani foods.

Jin Yi, an event organizer said that Pakistani restaurants present delicious and different variety of Pakistani food to Chinese and other foreign guests.

She hoped that the culture of Pakistani food will become more popular across China in near future.

In addition to Little Lahore, Khan Baba and Zam Zam, located in different districts of the Chinese capital are also very popular among the Pakistani and Chinese citizens.

Little Lahore and Khan Baba restaurants are located in central Chaoyang District while Zam Zam is situated in Haidian District.

Shandong cuisine, Halal dishes, Chinese aristocrat cuisine and imperial dishes, etc are also very famous among the Beijing residents.

The notable dishes are Peking duck, Instant-boiled Mutton, Sauté Meat Shreds with Soy Bean Paste, Quick-fried Tripe, etc. It also has the famous snacks like Stir-fried Liver, Thousand-layered cake, Pea Cake, Mung Bean Milk, etc.

PSX continues with bullish trend, gains 260 points

ISLAMABAD, Oct 5 (APP):The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bullish trend on Wednesday, gaining 260.99 points, a positive change of 0.63 percent, closing at 41,611.42 against 41,350.43 points on the last working day.

A total of 635,590,113 shares were traded during the day compared to 593,437,368 shares the previous day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs.10.525 billion against Rs. 9.350 billion on the last trading day.

As many as 351 companies transacted their shares in the stock market,164 of them recorded gain and 163 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 24 companies remained unchanged.

The three top trading companies were WorldCall Telecom with 365,167,500 shares at Rs1.57 per share, Telecard Limited with 23,103,500 at Rs11.43 and TRG Pak Ltd with 21,772,231 at Rs143.91 per share.

PSX continues with bullish trend, gains 260 points

Rafhan Maize witnessed a maximum increase of Rs.550 per share price, closing at Rs 10,350 whereas the runner up was Unilever Foods with Rs.500 rise in per share price to Rs.25,500.
Allawasaya Textile witnessed maximum decrease of Rs 275.70 per share closing at Rs 2,890 followed by Sanofi-Aventis with Rs.89.23 decline to close at Rs1,108.77.

Gold rates decrease by Rs150

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):The price of 24 karat per tola gold witnessed a decrease of Rs150 on Wednesday and was sold at Rs148,300 against its sale at Rs148,450 the previous day.

The price of 10 gram 24 karat also decreased by Rs129 and was sold at Rs127,143 against Rs127,272; whereas that of 10 gram 22 karat went down to Rs116,548 against its sale at Rs116,666, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.

The price of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs1620 and Rs1,388.88 respectively.The price of gold in international market increased by $5 and was sold at $1709 against its sale at $$1704, the association reported.

Pakistan,Kazakhstan agree to focus on cooperation in energy sector

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):Pakistan and Kazakhstan on Wednesday agreed an agreement to focus cooperation in the energy sector.
The agreement was reached during a meeting between Minister of State for Petroleum Dr. Musadik Malik and Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Pakistan Yerzhan Kistafin, said a news release.
Dr. Musadik appreciated the brotherly relations and long-standing people-to-people affinity.
He further remarked that Pakistan can benefit greatly from the huge energy reserves of Kazakhstan.
“Not only the immediate energy demands of Pakistan can be met but also Pakistan can serve as a gateway via Gwadar to the energy products of Kazakhstan and be a partner in the global energy trade” he added.
Ambassador agreed with the idea of the minister and said that it would be mutually beneficial for both countries.
Kazakhstan and Pakistan have huge trade potential, he said and add that last year the bilateral trade amounted to $ 200 million.
The envoy said, “Kazakhstan is very close to signing the transit trade agreement with Pakistan. Kazakhstan has huge oil, gas and coal reserves that provide a great opportunity to enhance energy partnership.”
Minister assured complete assistance on energy cooperation and stressed that Pakistan is open to new energy corridors.

Rupee gains Rs 1.70 against dollar

Rupee gains 43 paisa against dollar

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP):Pakistan rupee on Wednesday appreciated by Rs 1.70 against the US dollar in the interbank trading and closed at Rs 223.93 against the previous day’s closing of Rs 225.63.

According to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market were recorded at Rs 226 and Rs 228 respectively.

The price of Euro declined by 34 paisa and closed at Rs 222.52 against the last day’s closing of Rs 222.86.

The Japanese Yen remained unchanged to close at Rs1.55, whereas a decrease of Rs 1.66 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which was traded at Rs 255.39 as compared to its last closing of Rs 257.05.

The exchange rates of Emirates Dirham and Saudi Riyal decreased by 46 paisa each to close at Rs 60.96 and Rs 59.57 respectively.

PM orders linking of Thar Coal Mines with railway network by March next year

ISLAMABAD, Oct 05 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday directed the authorities concerned to link the Thar Coal Mines with the country’s railway network by March 2023.

During a meeting chaired by the prime minister, it was principally decided that the project of linking Thar Coal Mines with rail network would be jointly executed by the federal and Sindh governments. 

In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah would sign a Memorandum of Understanding today (Wednesday).

The prime minister told the meeting that the development projects needed to be completed with “Pakistan Speed” as the previous government had inflicted irreparable loss to the country during last four years. 

He said the government was trying to revive the development course which the previous government had deliberately kept halted during 2018 to 2022.

“During our previous governments, we accomplished the development projects within record period. What to talk of launching new development projects, the previous government halted the ongoing ones wasting the public money as a grave conspiracy,” he remarked.

He said with the linking of Thar Coal Mines with railway network, local coal would be used in power plants replacing the imported one.

Prime Minister Shehbaz said the usage of Thar coal in power plants would help save $2 billion annually.

The meeting was told that after the linking of Thar Coal Mines with rail network, the local coal would be utilized not only the power plants of Jamshoro and Port Qasim but also other power plants and industries in the country to save the public money. 

The prime minister instructed the authorities concerned to accelerate the work on the said project to complete it by March 2023.

Federal ministers Ishaq Dar, Ahsan Iqbal, Khurram Dastgir, special assistants to PM Jahanzeb Khan, Zafaruddin Mahmood and senior officers attended the meeting. Railway Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah joined the meeting via video link.
