SARGODHA, Jan 03 (APP):Sargodha police arrested 74 criminals in 122 crackdowns across the District during the last month.

Police said that various police teams conducted raids at various areas and arrested 74 criminals including 20 proclaimed offenders (POs),08 court absconders and 6 murderers.
Police also recovered 1133 liters of liquor, 8.3 kg of hashish, 3.2 kg of heroin, 678 empty bottles, 12 motorcycles, 09 phone and valuables worth in millions of rupees from them.
District Police Officer (DPO), Muhammad Faisal Kamran said on the occasion that Police would continue such actions against criminals in future.

Man killed in road accident

SARGODHA, Jan 03 (APP):A man was killed in a collision between a dumper and motorcycle here under the jurisdiction of Noor Purr Thal on Wednesday.
Police spokesperson said that Muhammad Sajid (43) r/o Marri area was travelling on motorcycle, when all of a sudden speeding dumper hit and ran over him near Pull 118 area.
Further investigation was under way.

Man shot dead by brother

FAISALABAD, Jan 03 (APP):A man shot dead his brother over a domestic dispute in the area of Jhang Bazaar police station, here on Wednesday.
Rescue 1122 spokesman said that Abid Ali had an old domestic dispute with his brother Sajid Ali.
On the day of incident,Abid opened fire and killed his brother on the spot after exchanging harsh words.
Rescue 1122 handed over the body to police.
Further investigation was underway.

Owners of 244 smoke emitting vehicles, various brick kilns fined

PESHAWAR, Jan 03 (APP):The district administration, traffic police and Regional Transport Authority (RTA) on Wednesday fined owners of 244 smoke emitting vehicles , issued notices to 24 others and impounded 21 vehicles.
According to a press release issued here by the office of the Deputy Commissioner, the actions were taken under Clean and Green Peshawar campaign launched on the directives of DC Afaq Wazir.
Additional Assistant Commissioners Lutfur Rehman and Owais Khan along with the officials of police and RTA checked vehicles on main GT road and ring road.
The teams of district administration also visited brick kilns in Mattni area and inspected smoke emitting kilns and took action against the owners. They also issued notices to the owners to convert the kiln into the zig-zag technology for manufacturing of bricks.
It is pertinent to mention here that the district government has launched a special month-long campaign “clean and green Peshawar to make the city pollution free.
Regional Transport Authority Department, Traffic Police, Capital Metropolitan Government, TMAs, WSSP, PDA and other departments were participating in the campaign.
Under the drive legal action was being taken against the smoke emitting wagons, buses and other vehicles including rickshaws, brick kilns and factories causing air pollution on a daily basis.
The teams of TMAs and WSSP under the supervision of administrative officers were also collecting garbage on a daily basis besides keeping the drains and streets clean.
The DC Afaq Wazir has appealed to the people to cooperate with the teams to keep the Peshawar city clean and green.

PHP apprehends 8500 POs across province last year

MULTAN, Jan 03 (APP):Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) issued about 1.7 million E-challans over violation of traffic rules on roads across the province during last year 2023.
According to the PHP annual performance report data issued here, police have arrested 8500 Proclaimed Offenders (POs) including 500 A category and 8000 B category in Punjab province.
PHP also checked 17.6 million people and 9.4 million vehicles on roads through the E-police post App.
The police have also recovered 3559 stolen vehicles including 190 cars, 3184 motorcycles and 185 other vehicles.
Likewise, legal action was taken against 5000 vehicles for using gas cylinders in public transport. Legal action was taken against 75,000 vehicles causing smog and air pollution by emitting smoke.
Challans issued to 450,000 overloaded vehicles over violation of approved Excel Load Management to secure highways across the province.
Assistance and guidance were provided to 56000 passengers facing difficulties during the journey.
758 missing children were reunited with their parents and 65000 driving licences were issued to citizens.
The ratio of fatal accidents has significantly reduced by 45 percent as compared to 2022 due to effective patrolling and strategy of PHP on the roads of Punjab.
PHP has registered 1300 cases of illegal weapons and confiscated 91 Kalashnikovs, 138 rifles and 970 pistols.
PHP seized 22,000 liters alcohol, 311 kg hashish, 5 kg heroin and 66 kg opium from drug peddlers and took legal action against them.
Additional IGP, PHP Abdul Kareem directed the officials and personnel to perform their duties more diligently.
DIG PHP Dr. Muhammad Athar Waheed said that the safety of lives and properties of people and masses serving was the motto of PHP.

Shipping Activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 03 (APP): Five ships namely, Maersk Kensington, MSC Archmidis, Rich Rainbow, Limra and Serengeti carrying Container, Palm oil, LPG and Gas oil, berthed at Container Terminal, Liquid Terminal, Engro Terminal and Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile four more ships, Maratha-polis, African Sanderling, Sibulk Tradition and Bolan also arrived at outer-anchorage of the Port Qasim during last 24 hours to load/unload Containers, Coal and Gas oil respectively.

A total of ten ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them a containers ship ‘MSC Archmidis’ left the port on today morning and four more ships, Limra, IVS Crimson Creek, Serengeti and Maersk Kensington are expected to sail on same day.

A cargo volume of 158,831 tonnes, comprising 93,831 tonnes imports cargo and 64,724 tonnes export cargo carried in 3,963 Containers (1,680 TEUs Imports and 2,283 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

Seven ships at Outer Anchorage of Port Qasim, out of them four ships, Gengo Aquitine, Bolan, FSM and Maratholis & two more ships, San Francisco and Golar Arctic carrying Coal, Gas oil, LPG, Container and LNG are expected to take berths at PIBT, FOTCO, EVTL, QICT and PGPCL respectively on Wednesday, while another Containers ship ‘Athenian’ is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.

Rescue 1122 Tank takes part in 1373 rescue operations in 2023

TANK, Jan 03 (APP):Rescue 1122 Tank took part in a total of 1373 rescue operations over the last year 2023 in the district while registering less than seven minutes average response time.
According to an annual performance report issued by the district’s emergency service, it also handled referral services and 1219 victims and patients were provided free service while safely shifting them from the district hospital to other districts for medical treatment.
The total emergencies included 1033 medical, 126 road traffic accidents, two blasts, 28 fire eruptions, two drowning, 53 bullet injuries and 129 recovery-related incidents.
During this period, the service received a total of 23766 calls including 8317 those of emergency and 14096 fake calls.
He said that rescue 1122 service also provided services in 23 referral-related emergencies including nine within the district and in 14 emergencies patients were shifted to other districts
He said the rescue 1122 teams were fully equipped with all necessary equipment and they had been efficiently rendering their services during emergencies.
