Sixth death anniversary of Aitzaz Hasan observed

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (APP): The sixth death anniversary of Aitzaz Hasan, who laid his life to stop the attempt of a suicide bomber to enter his school in Hangu, was observed on Saturday.
He became a national hero after he saved hundreds of lives on January 6, 2014, thwarting the terrorist attack.
Aitzaz Hasan had grabbed the suicide bomber at the main gate to prevent him from entering the school.
Hasan was later awarded with Sitara-e-Shujaat for his bravery.

CG COMSTECH efforts to supervise 100 Ph.D. Dissertations in Pakistan acknowledged

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (APP):The COMSTECH team has extended congratulations to the Coordinator General COMSTECH, Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary for successfully supervising 100 Ph.D. Dissertations in Pakistan.
Prof. Choudhary, a globally recognized medicinal chemist and Mustafa (PBUH) Prize laureate, has contributed immensely to the fields of organic and bioorganic chemistry with 1,175 research papers, 76 books, and 40 chapters in prestigious US and European publications.
According to COMSTECH, Prof. Choudhary’s groundbreaking work includes securing 40 US patents, earning him widespread recognition.
Prof. Choudhary’s impact is evident through 41,000 citations of his research globally, showcasing an impressive h-index of 81. His academic journey encompasses D.Sc., Ph.D., and Post- Doctorate Chem, qualifications.
The distinguished professor has received accolades from the governments of Pakistan, including Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Sitara-e-Imtiaz, and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz. Internationally, he has been honoured with awards such as the Mustafa (peace be upon him) Prize, ECO Award, Khawarzimi Award, Chinese friendship Award,  COMSTECH Award, TWAS Award, Prof. Abdus Salam Prize and fellowship of all major academies.
Prof. Choudhary’s commitment to academic excellence and scientific innovation continues to inspire the next generation of researchers in Pakistan and beyond.

CDA to hold first auction of FY 2024 on Jan 10, 11 & 12

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (APP):Nauman Khalid, a Member of Technical & Digitization of Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday said that the authority would hold the first auction of the plots on January 10, 11 and 12 in F-9 Park, Islamabad.
He along with his team visited the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) and briefed the business community about the auction of CDA plots, said a press release.
CDA would auction a total of 35 plots out of which 11 plots would be auctioned on the first day, 10 on the second day and 14 on the third day, he added.
The categories of plots include Marakaz, Blue Area, Park Road, apartments, hotels, petrol pumps, hospitals, timber, agro-farms, I&T Centers, Aabpara Market, Class-III shopping centers and revision of deferred plots, he added.
Nauman Khalid said that CDA would give possession of auctioned plots on payment of 75% of the premium while a 10% rebate would be given on payment of the lumpsum amount.
He also briefed the business community about various development initiatives of CDA including the development of a cycling lane in Islamabad to reduce traffic congestion, the introduction of more bus routes, digitization of land records, automation of approval of building plans and automated parking.
He said that ICCI should cooperate with CDA in making the auction successful. He said that ICCI should give a list of prioritized issues of the business community and CDA would form a team to address them.
Ahsan Zafar Bakhtawari, President, ICCI said that CDA should ensure the provision of all required infrastructure and civic amenities for the plots being auctioned to save the investors from unnecessary problems.
He urged the CDA to introduce mobile apps to provide online services to the business community and the citizens regarding the approval of building plans and other plot-related matters.
He also urged to set up its Facilitation Desk in ICCI to facilitate the business community in CDA-related affairs, besides the replacement of old sewerage lines with new ones and the development of markets. He assured ICCI would cooperate in mobilizing investors for active participation in the CDA’s auction of plots.
Engr. Azhar ul Islam Zafar, Vice President ICCI shared many useful ideas to make the auction process of CDA more attractive which would get the attention of local and foreign investors.

KPCTA, Sports Directorate organize recreational trip for special persons

PESHAWAR, Jan 06 (APP):The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) in collaboration with Directorate General of Sports on Saturday organized a three-day trip to Nathia Gali for special men and women of Special Life Foundation.
During the trip, special persons visited Khanspur Church, Ayobia, Donga Gali Pipeline and Nathia Gali track exploring various beautiful spots.
The aim of trip was to provide special individuals, especially the women with opportunities to enjoy beauty of these tourist spots.
The participants appreciated efforts of KPCTA and Directorate General of Sports for providing recreational opportunities to them. They also suggested organizing more such events in future.
