FAISALABAD, Jan 02 (APP):A woman was killed in an accident while a youth was injured during a robbery near here on Tuesday.

According to the Rescue 1122, a woman was hit to death by a rashly driven car near Kohistan express service. The victim was later identified as Zahra Kalsoom of Muzaffar Colony Saman Abad.

The body was handed over to police while the driver fled away.
Separately, Khawar of Chak No 283- GB was injured by dacoits during a dacoity
who was shifted to the THQ hospital Jaranwala.

Peshawar Police successfully repulses terrorist attack by using modern technology

4PESHAWAR, Jan 02 (APP):Peshawar Police has successfully prevented an attack by terrorists during late hours by using modern technology of thermal weapons in the border areas of District Khyber and Peshawar.
According to a statement issued here on Tuesday, some terrorists were trying to find a suitable location for attacking the Police station and check post in Khan Khawar area in the suburbs of Peshawar towards the Khyber district.
The terrorists, who were around eight to ten in number, were intercepted and prevented from attack after being detected by thermal weapons, adds the statement.
All the attacking terrorists were repulsed and forced to retreat by the Police force, says SSP Operations, Kashif Aftab Abbasi.
He said a search operation has also been started in the targeted area to arrest the attacking terrorists who escaped while taking advantage of pitched darkness.

RCB completes tender process for underground cabling project of Saddar

RAWALPINDI, Jan 02 (APP):Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has completed the tender process of ‘Underground Cabling Project’ for Saddar area.
According to a RCB spokesman, in Phase-I, the underground cabling project of the Mall Road, Haider Road, Bank Road, Kashmir Road and adjacent Link Roads of Saddar would be completed.

RCB had completed the tender process of the civil works in the first phase, which includes Mall Road (Service Road North), Haider Road, Bank Road, Kashmir Road and adjacent link roads, he added.

The project of the civil works would be completed by Rawalpindi Cantt Board while electrical works would be the responsibility of IESCO.
A committee comprising all the stakeholders and the senior officers had also been formed to make the project transparent, he said adding, Phase-I of the project would be completed in nine months.

Cantonment Executive Officer, RCB, Syed Ali said that the board was striving for the development of the cantt areas. The project would help increase the beauty of Rawalpindi cantt, he added.

The board was making efforts to provide a better environment to the residents, the CEO said.
A new project for underground cabling had been launched, which includes the decoration of the areas of Saddar, he said adding, it would also help provide a better business environment to the businessmen.

RDA lodges 212 FIRs; issues 548 notices to illegal housing schemes

RAWALPINDI, Jan 02 (APP):Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) in its ongoing operation against illegal housing societies has issued 548 legal notices and lodged 212 FIRs, said RDA spokesman.
He further informed that the authority also sealed more than 183 offices of the illegal housing schemes and demolished 195 illegal constructions.
He said that the authorities concerned on the orders of the Director General (DG), RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa were taking strict action against the rules violators.
He said that the DG RDA, Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi and City Police Officer, Rawalpindi were monitoring the operation against illegal housing societies, launched on the special instructions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi division Liaquat Ali Chatta.
RDA also sent 129 letters to the Cyber Crime Wing for legal action against the rules violators.
The operation was underway against illegal housing societies without any discrimination, he added.
The citizens were advised not to invest in illegal housing schemes and check their status on RDA’s website www.rda.gop.pk before any investment, he added.
The offices of several illegal housing schemes had also been demolished and FIRs were also lodged against illegal and unapproved housing societies. Strict action was taken against illegal housing schemes including Blue World City, Multi garden, Abdullah City, Avalon city, Faisal Town Phase-2, Rudn Enclave, Capital Valley, Shaheen Garden, Atlantic City, Century Town, High Capital City, Royal Farm/Residencia/Apna Ghar, Chinar Enclave, Eman Garden, Theme Park View, Al-Imran Homes, Imarat Hoon Farm Houses, Khan Builders, Kashmir Homes/Imam Hassan Towns, Usmania Fort Housing Scheme, Haider Residencia, Khalid Colony, Al-Baraka Garden, Zam Zam Villas, Eman Garden, Chinar Enclave, Gulshan-e-Abbas, Potohar Valley, Dua Garden, Anmol Garden, Ameen Housing, Watan Enclave, Cighu Farm House, Green Oaks (Harutus Flora), Manan City, Shakir Farms and others.
He informed that on the special instructions of the Commissioner Rawalpindi division, Liaquat Ali Chatta and DG RDA Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, the operation against illegal housing schemes would continue.
He said that not only the operations were conducted against illegal housing societies, but, their offices were also demolished and FIRs were registered against those violating the rules.
He said 218 challans were also issued during the operation against illegal housing schemes.
The spokesman informed that nine accused involved in illegal housing societies’ business were sent behind the bars while 28 housing societies owners’ securities were confiscated. 72 cases of illegal housing societies were in the session court and 24 cases were in the high court, he added.
He said that the authority also succeeded in achieving the recovery target of Rs 52.11 million. Along with the district administration, Rawalpindi Police were also playing an important role in controlling the illegal business, he said.
RDA had also directed the illegal housing societies to immediately stop their illegal advertisements and sale of the plots of unapproved housing schemes. Notices were also issued to the marketing companies for advertising illegal housing projects, he added.

800-kg adulterated Khoya wasted

SARGODHA, Jan 02 (APP):The Punjab food Authority (PFA) discarded 800-kg adulterated ‘khoya’
here on Tuesday.
According to a press release issued by the PFA office, the authority launched a
crackdown on substandard milk and ‘khoya’ sellers across the district.
The food safety team raided a production unit in Kot Sahib of tehsil Sahiwal where Khoya
was being prepared with mixing of vegetable ghee and starch.
The team wasted 200-kg unhealthy khoya on the spot and seized
material and machinery as well.
A case was also registered against the owner of the unit.

KARACHI, Jan 02 (APP):Three ships namely, MSC Jemima, Luna Rossa and IVS Crimson Creek carrying Container, Wheat and Coal, berthed at Container Terminal, Grain Terminal and Bulk Terminal respectively
on Monday.
Meanwhile four more ships, Maersk Kensington, Rich Rainbow, FSM and Limra also arrived at outer-anchorage of the Port Qasim during last 24 hours to load/unload Containers, Palm oil and LPGs respectively.
A total of ten ships were engaged at PQA berths during the last 24 hours, out of them two ships, Ullswater and Sunray are left the port on today morning and three more ships, MSC Jemima, Leila Confidence and Al-Bidda are expected
to sail on same day.
A cargo volume of 160,397 tonnes, comprising 120,463 tonnes imports cargo and 39,934 tonnes export cargo carried in 2,852 Containers (1,937 TEUs Imports and 915 TEUs export) was handled at the port during last 24 hours.

RAWALPINDI, Jan 02 (APP):Police have arrested two bike lifters and recovered eight stolen motorcycles from their possession, said a Police spokesman here on Tuesday.

He informed that a team under the supervision of SHO, Rawat Police Station managed to net two bike lifters namely Naeem and Nazam and recovered eight stolen motorcycles and other items from their possession. He said that the accused, Naeem is a record holder.

A case has been registered against the accused while further investigation is underway.
Superintendent of Police, Saddar said the accomplices and facilitators of the accused would also be sent behind bars.
He said that on the directives of City Police Officer, Rawalpindi, the operation against the bike and car lifters had been accelerated.

BISEP notifies SSC Annual-I examination from March 14

PESHAWAR, Jan 02 (APP): Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar (BISEP) on Tuesday notified that the Secondary School certificate (annual-I) examination, 2024 would start on March 14.

A notification issued here said that the regular and private students can submit their normal fee upto January 22, later admission fee until January 31, double admission fee up to February 07 and triple admission fee upto February 15 in any branch of Allied Bank, Muslim Commercial Bank and Easy Paisa through online system generated receipt.

It further informed that the normal admission fee for 9th class is Rs 2200, late admission fee Rs 2700, double late fee Rs 3200 and triple admission fee Rs 4200.
Similarly, the normal admission fee for 10th class is Rs 2600, late admission fee Rs 3100, double late fee Rs 3600 and triple admission fee Rs 4600.

The board notified Rs 2700 normal admission fee for improvement of marks for both 9th and 10th classes, while the late admission fee is Rs 3200, the double late fee Rs 3700 and the triple admission fee Rs 4700.

In case of improvement Rs 500 and for additional subjects, Rs 500 shall be deposited at the time of receipt of original certificate, it said adding that private students shall submit their admission forms online through www.bisep.edu.pk.
