Rupee stands at break-even point against Dollar
ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (APP):Pakistani rupee witnessed stability against the US Dollar in the interbank trading on Friday and closed at the rate of the previous day-Rs 286.73.
However, according to the Forex Association of Pakistan (FAP), the buying and selling rates of dollars in the open market stood at Rs 289 and Rs 291.5 respectively.
The price of the Euro went down by Rs 3.51 to close at Rs 311.66 against the last day’s closing of Rs 315.17, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).
The Japanese Yen lost one paisa to close at Rs 2, whereas a decrease of Rs 1.45 was witnessed in the exchange rate of the British Pound, which traded at Rs 364.59 as compared to its last day’s closing of Rs 366.04.
The exchange rates of the Emirates Dirham and the Saudi Riyal remained unchanged to close at Rs 78.06 and Rs 76.43 respectively.
Gold prices decline by Rs 1,500 to Rs 217,000 per tola
ISLAMABAD, Jun 23 (APP):The per tola price of 24 karat gold decreased by Rs 1,500 and was sold at Rs 217,500 on Friday against its sale at
Rs 218,500 the previous day.
The price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also decreased by Rs 1,285 to Rs 186,043 from Rs 187,328 whereas the price of 10 grams 22 karat gold went down to Rs 170,539 from Rs 171,718, All Sindh Sarafa Jewellers Association reported.
The price of per tola and ten gram silver remained constant at Rs 2,550 and Rs 2,186.21 respectively.
The price of gold in the international market declined by $10 to $1919 from $1929, the association reported.
Pakistan Navy personnel conferred military awards
KARACHI, Jun 23 (APP):Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi on Friday conferred awards as the Chief Guest in an Investiture Ceremony to naval personnel held at Karachi.
The recipients of Sitara-i-lmtiaz (Military) were Cdre Shahzad Iqbal, Cdre Tauqeer Ahmad Khawaja, Cdre Muhammad Ahsan Raza Mallhi and Cdre Syed Talat Hussain.
Recipients of Tamgha-i-lmtiaz (Military) included Cdr Kabbir Yahya Khan, Cdr Muhammad Atif Khan and Lt Cdr Abdul Rehman Khan.
Tamgha-i-Basalat was conferred to Cdr Syed Eusaf Viqar and Barkat Ali LCDT was awarded Imtiazi Sanad, a Pakistan Navy news release said.
In addition, 14 Awards of Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military)-I, 17 awards of Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military)-II and 10 awards of Tamgha-i-Khidmat (Military)-III were conferred upon CPOs and Sailors.
Letter of Commendation by Chief of the Naval Staff was awarded to 29 Officers, CPOs/ Sailors and Navy Civilians.
The ceremony was attended by serving and retired officers of the Pakistan Navy.
