Zamurrad Khan urges continued support for Pakistan Sweet Home’s orphans

ECP constitutes Appellate Tribunals to resolve by-election nomination disputes

ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (APP):The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has constituted appellate tribunals to address appeals regarding the acceptance or rejection of nomination papers submitted by candidates for the by-elections being held on April 21.
According to a notification issued by the Election Commission, three judges of Appellate Tribunal will hear appeals in two provincial and two National Assembly constituencies of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Justice Muhammad Naeem Anwar has been assigned to dispose of appeals related to NA Bajaur, PK-22, and Bajaur-IV.
Justice Shakeel Ahmed will handle appeals for PK-91, Kohat-II, and Justice Fazal Subhan will handle appeals concerning NA-44, Dera Ismael Khan-I.
In Punjab, the Appellate Tribunal, headed by Justice Shahid Karim, will handle appeals concerning the following constituencies: NA-119, Lahore-III; NA-132, Kasur-II; PP-32, Gujrat-VI; PP-36, Wazirabad-II; PP-54, Narowal-I; PP-139, Sheikhupura-IV; PP-147, Lahore-III; PP-149, Lahore-V; PP-158, Lahore-XIV; and PP-164, Lahore-XX.
Similarly, Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar is assigned to dispose of nomination papers appeals to constituencies included
PP-93, Bhakkar-V; PP-290 DG Khan-V. Likewise, Justice Ahmed Nadeem Arshad will head PP-266, RY Khan-XII.
Justice Mirza Waqas Raif is assigned to dispose of appeals concerning PP-22, Chakwal-cum-Talagang.
Justice Shamsuddin Abbasi will head the Appellate Tribunal in Sindh, tasked with handling complaints from candidates contesting the by-elections in NA-196, Kamber Shahdadkot-I; NA-207, Shaheed Benazirabad-I; and PS-80, Dadu-I.
In Balochistan, Justice Muhammad Aamir Nawaz Rana will lead another appellate tribunal, responsible for addressing complaints regarding PB-20, Khuzdar-III, and PB-22, Lasbela.

RAWALPINDI, Mar 20 (APP): Two soldiers of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while eliminating eight terrorists during an intrusion attempt to enter Port Authority Colony in Gwadar, which was successfully thwarted by the security forces personnel on Wednesday.

According to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Army troops employed for security responded immediately and effectively engaged the terrorists, and in ensuing fire exchange, all eight terrorists were killed.

A large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the killed terrorists, it said.

The martyred soldiers were identified as Sepoy Bahar Khan (age: 35 years, resident of District DG Khan) and Sepoy Imran Ali (age: 28 years, resident of District Khairpur) having fought gallantly, sacrificed their lives and embraced martyrdom, during the intense exchange of fire.

“Security forces of Pakistan, in step with the Nation remain determined to thwart attempts of sabotaging peace and stability of Balochistan, and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve,” the ISPR said.

US Congress committee exposes PTI’s ‘cipher drama’: Tarar

ISLAMABAD, Mar 20 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Wednesday said the US Congress committee had completely exposed the “cipher drama” orchestrated by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder against the country, just for the sake of his personal interests.

“The PTI chairman’s deceit and hypocrisy has been exposed before the whole world today as Donld Lu testified before the Congress and called the chipher a complete falsehood,” the minister said while addressing a news conference here.

Tarar condemned the PTI’s conspiracy in the strongest terms lashing out the party for their all the anti-state moves including May 9 riots and protests outside the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Headquarters for derailing Pakistan talks with the lender on final review of the standby agreement.

“The PTI hired lobbyists in the United States for a congress hearing on the so-called regime change conspiracy, but their leader could not evade the divine justice,” he said citing a proverb “man proposes and God disposes”.

He said hiring of the lobbyists in the US for congressional hearing was solely meant to malign the country, but it was the PTI founder who was declared a “certified liar” in the end.

The minister said the US diplomat had not only exposed the “cipher drama”, but also expressed satisfaction over the credibility of the general election as well as women empowerment in Pakistan during the proceeding.

On the other hand, he said the PTI went to extreme length Just to double down their false narrative on the cipher which severely damaged Pakistan’s diplomatic relations with other countries.

He said the history of Pakistan suggested seldom such instances where a person jeopardized national interests just to satisfy his ego.

The PTI founder waved a white paper in a public gathering and claimed that his government was being ousted in result of a foreign conspiracy, the minister said accusing him of misleading the whole nation and inflicting severe damage on the country.

Today, he had been humiliated before whole world that was telecasted by every international media channel, he added.

The minister called out the PTI leader for intoxicating the minds of youth. He got nothing from lobbying, running smear campaigns against the country and by orchestrating a conspiracy against the people, Tarar added.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to the national interests vowing all-out measures to protect the interests of the country.

To a query, he said the law would take its course in the cipher case which was being heard in the high court and at the appeal stage.

He said the cipher case was open and shut that showed how the country’s enemies were befitted with a conspiracy and in fact penalized for that matter as well.

The minister also took exception to the criticism of those who only came to Pakistan during the PTI’s government tenure and left as soon as it came to an end.

To another query, he said Shehbaz Gill got a PHD degree from Malaysia on HEC scholarship and bound to serve the country.

He had not violated the law only, but also remained on forefront for instigating the people against the state for achieving the foreign agenda against Pakistan, Tarar said, stressing on bringing such people to justice.

To another question, he said the people who protested outside the IMF were wearing the expensive bags and shoes. How came they could understand the problems of a common man who would ultimately to bear the brunt of their anti-state activities.

He said certainty had been returned in the market that shown positive indicators following the staff-level agreement reached by Pakistan and the IMF.

The minister said austerity measures were discussed in cabinet meeting at length and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed the cabinet members’ decision for forgoing their salaries.

He said the cabinet members infact followed into the footsteps of the prime minister who had a track record of foregoing his salaries , perks and priviliges in different tenure as prime minister and chief minister Punjab.

Massive tree plantation at Potohar triangle to increase scenery of city: Saqib Rafiq

RAWALPINDI, Mar 20 (APP):Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) would launch a large-scale plantation and clean-up campaign to build a green belt around Potohar Triangle, Soan Bridge and along the banks of Nullah Lai.
Giving details, President Chamber and Chairman RWMC Saqib Rafiq said the plantation and cleanliness drive aimed to build green belt around this area to increase the scenery of the city.
He said that under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, Green Punjab Initiative 2024-27, all the relevant agencies, especially the Forest Department, PHA, started a large-scale plantation campaign in Rawalpindi.
The project will not only beautify the city but will add to the environment of the vicinity.
Saqib informed that an event has been planned on 21st March 2024 at 11:00 am(Potohar Triangle Soan Bridge) to launch the activity.
Youth, especially school students and civil society, local dignitaries, business community and chamber members are being involved in this campaign, he said and added that “if every citizen plants only four trees and patronizes it, one billion trees can be planted in the next two years.”

PMD advises people to take precautionary measures to avert pollen allergy in twin cities

ISLAMABAD, March 20 (APP):Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has advised the citizens to take precautionary measures in wake of the escalating pollen concentration in Rawalpindi and Islamabad areas.
The pollen concentration has started spreading in twin cities due to increase in temperature.The PMD further informed that peak of pollen concentration is expected to observe in twin cities during the last week of March 2024. The people suffering from pollen allergy are advised to take all precautionary measures in this regard.
The most abundant pollen types in Islamabad are Paper Mulberry, Acacia, Eucalyptus, Pines, Grasses, Cannabis, Dandelion and Alternaria. Out of all these species, Paper Mulberry shares about 97 percent of the total pollen count, and its concentration touches the extreme limits of around 45,000 per cubic meter of air, during the peak of the blossom season.

Nowruz is a joint cultural heritage of the world, which promotes coexistence, peace and harmony, as it is celebrated by people of different faiths, ethnicities, nationalities and political orientations.
