ISLAMABAD, Oct 3 (APP): The Associated Press of Pakistan (APP), the national premier news agency, on Tuesday celebrated Eid Milad-un-Nabi, the birthday of the Holy Prophet Muhammad Peace Be Upon Him (PBUH) , with great enthusiasm and reverence.
Managing Director (MD) Muhammad Asim Khichi graced the occasion as the chief guest, joined by numerous journalists and supporting staffers who participated wholeheartedly in the event.
The event was marked by the recitation of Naats, traditional Islamic hymns, which captivated and mesmerized the audience who came together to pay tributes to the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Addressing the gathering, Managing Director Muhammad Asim Khichi shared his inspiring views, emphasizing the significance of following footsteps of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) .
He highlighted that the conduct of the Prophet (PBUH) served as a complete code of life for all humanity, transcending time and place, and called Him a blessing for all universes.
Asim Khichi urged everyone present to uphold the rights of fellow human beings, emphasizing the importance of this principle in Islam.
He stressed the need for individuals to exhibit the best possible behavior towards others, in accordance with the guidelines of Seerat-un-Nabi (the Prophet’s biography) both in letter and in spirit.
Expressing his deep devotion to the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) , the MD humbly acknowledged the honor of being a follower of the Prophet.
He drew upon historical examples to underscore the Prophet’s significance, citing the Prophets’ supplication to Allah Almighty to be included in His Ummah (community).
The celebration of Eid Miladun Nabi at APP served as a poignant reminder of the values and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), encouraging attendees to emulate his exemplary life and conduct in their daily lives.
This event not only celebrated a significant religious occasion but also fostered unity, devotion, and a sense of community among the APP family.
ISLAMABAD, Oct 03 (APP): Pakistan Ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the EU, Amna Baloch on Tuesday held discussions with Rector Rik Van de Walle of Ghent University.
The ambassador discussed the ongoing engagement tracks related to knowledge partnerships and sought deepening of ties, including collaborations with specialized research consortium, Pakistan Embassy in Belgium posted on X.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 03 (APP): Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed on Tuesday said the Muslim countries would have to portray a soft image of Ummah with concerted efforts on the globe.
He said this in a meeting with Bahraini Parliament Member and former Speaker Sheikh Adel bin Abdulrahman Almuawda, who called on him here in his office.
Sheikh Almuawda met with Minister Aneeq along with Pakistani scholars including Maulana Abu Turab, Maulana Atiqur Rehman Shah Kashmiri, Professor Sajjad Qamar, and Maulana Hafiz Maqsood Ahmad.
During their discussions, both leaders emphasized the promotion of unity within the Muslim Ummah, addressing common issues, and combatting Islamophobia.
Minister Aneeq reaffirmed that Pakistan’s foundation was rooted in the Quran and Sunnah, and stressed the need for Muslim nations to work collectively to manifest the teachings of Islam. He highlighted that as Muslims, it was crucial to align their actions with Quranic guidance and promote Islamic values to the world.
Furthermore, he emphasized the importance of nurturing the younger generation lamenting that many young individuals were not seeking solutions to contemporary issues within the Quran’s teachings.
Sheikh Almuawda expressed his country’s deep affection for Pakistan as the only state established in the name of Islam. He also drew attention to historical instances of Islamophobia and the need to change the world’s perception of Islam by removing the veil of ignorance.
Both leaders concurred that gradually incorporating religious education in educational institutions and spreading the message of Islam in a gentle and informative manner was essential. He also extended an invitation to Minister Aneeq to visit Bahrain to further strengthen bilateral relations.
The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and Bahrain, with the ultimate goal of fostering unity, promoting Islamic values, and addressing the challenges faced by the Muslim Ummah on a global scale.
RAWALPINDI, Oct 3 (APP): As many as ten terrorists were killed on Tuesday by the security forces during an intelligence based operation (IBO) conducted on reported presence of terrorists in the general area Pezu of District Tank.
During the operation, intense fire exchange took place between the Army troops and terrorists, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release said.
The ISPR added that these terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against the security forces as well as extortion and killing of innocent civilians.
A large cache of arms, ammunition and explosives was also recovered during the operation.
It added that the locals of the area appreciated the operation. “Security forces of Pakistan are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country,” the new release said.
ISLAMABAD, Oct 3 (APP): Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik Tuesday said the Authority was transitioning from a reactive to a proactive organization with a clear futuristic strategy to cope with emerging challenges in the disaster management realm.
He was addressing the Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad (ISSI) launching ceremony of its special report tiltled “Human Security through Development” here.
The chairman said the Human Security Through Development Report by ISSI was an important document timely launched by the Institute, whereas the authority was to convert such reports into doable actions.
He added that human security should be the main stake of means of development, as there were different definitions of disasters in various societies linked to the individual capacities of the nations to respond to the disasters of multiple natures.
The erratic behavior of natural weather patterns world over were evident and natural disasters were observed in many urban centers that did not face such threats earlier, he said.
The NDMA, he said was now in a better position to manage the prediction of disasters that had advanced world projections of different level monitoring its changing climatic behavior.
He underscored that the population growth index needed to be watched world over as it was threat multiplier.
The NDMA is developing a national think tank and connecting all research conducted in the past decade that could have shaped our national disaster response in the present, he added.
The chairman added that academia could provide smart solutions and achievable suggestions to future challenges of the country due to environmental degradation.
“If we are more prepared and have efficient early warning systems (EWS) can lead to our collective disaster preparedness,” he said.
The NDMA chairman remarked that it was the first that the Pakistani community gave an overwhelming response to Syria and Turkiye during disasters, adding “It is the first time that an already distressed country is approaching another distressed nation which shows our resilience and strength despite facing massive disasters.”
Director General, ISSI Ambassador (R) Sohail Mahmood in his welcome remarks said the Human Security Report was unveiled on the 50th foundation day of ISSI and was finally released today.
He said that in a world that was constantly evolving and emerging challenges rightly flagged the need to discuss human security from different perspective.
The report, he said helped to understand the unique situation of Pakistan owing to its pivotal location and challenges due to poverty, impacts of climate change and water crisis like multifaceted crisis.
The National Security Policy, he said stated that youth was the future of the country and equipping them with necessary tools to come out of despair could help resolve issues.
The report underlined the need for a comprehensive and integrated approach to address human security challenges in the country, he added.
“The report stressed that Pakistan could not overlook the impacts of climate change and environmental degradation undermining our human security. It showcases the inspiring examples of communities that have demonstrated local solutions alongwith government measures to address its disaster resilience,” he added.
The report would provide valuable insights for experts, academia and citizens alike to understand human security needs and prospects in an amicable manner, he added.
Director, ISSI Dr Neelum Nigar presented a brief overview of the report.
She said the report offered an in-depth analysis of Pakistan’s human security and development matrix which was created after extensive dialogue and consultations with experts and stakeholders after series of interactions.
A panel discussion participated by the experts namely Ambassador (R) Shafqat Kakahel, Aisha Khan, Dr Aliya Khan, and Faheem Sardar provided their remarks on the Report.
Chairman, ISSI Board of Governors, Ambassador (R) Khalid Mehmood delivered the vote of thanks and shed light in various topics of the report.
