Yaum-e-Ashur observed amidst tight security in Lahore

LAHORE, Sep 21 (APP):Yaum-e-Ashur was observed on Friday with religious solemnity and reverence in the Punjab
capital to pay tributes to Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and his
companions for their supreme sacrifices.
Big and small Taziya, Alam and Zuljanah processions were
taken out in various parts of the city.
The religious scholars shed light on the historical,
social and religious aspects of supreme sacrifice
of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS).
The main Zuljanah procession, which was taken out from Nisar
Haveli inside Mochi Gate late on Thursday night amidst strict
security arrangements, concluded at Karbala Gamey Shah
after passing through its traditional routes on Friday
evening. Thousands of mourners participated in
the Zuljanah procession.
Meanwhile,tight security arrangements were put in place
to maintain law and order and provide security to
the Zuljanah processions.
Personnel of Dolphin Squad, Quick Response Force and
Police Response Unit continued to patrol the city’s roads
till the end of the main procession.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar
visited the central control-room set up at the Civil
Secretariat for monitoring of security of
processions on Ashura.
