ISLAMABAD, July 04 (APP):The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on Friday launched the third phase of its Food Security Support Project in Pakistan for the year 2025, reaffirming its steadfast commitment to humanitarian assistance and bilateral cooperation.
At a ceremony held here, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, formally handed over 30,000 food baskets for distribution among underprivileged communities across the country. The initiative is being implemented through the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in coordination with Pakistan’s federal and provincial authorities.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Al-Malki emphasized the strong and enduring bonds between the two brotherly nations. “It is my pleasure to represent the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in this honorable ceremony. This project reflects the unwavering support of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, for the people of Pakistan,” he added.
He reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to standing by Pakistan in times of need, highlighting the pivotal role of KSrelief in delivering humanitarian aid across the globe, including Pakistan. The center, he noted, has been actively engaged in various welfare projects throughout the country.
Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research, Rana Tanveer Hussain, who attended the event as chief guest, lauded the generous support of Saudi Arabia and thanked the Saudi leadership for their continued solidarity with the people of Pakistan.
The event concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and the strengthening of ties between the two nations.
“Long live Pakistan-Saudi friendship,” the ambassador declared in both Arabic and Urdu, reinforcing the deep-rooted fraternal relations shared by the two countries.
