ISLAMABAD, Jul 18 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Tribal Affairs and Member of the National Assembly (MNA), Mubarak Zeb Khan was nominated as member of the joint steering committee to ensure its smooth implementation under Accelerated Implementation Plan (AIP) initiated by federal government for the development of merged districts (ex-Fata).
Talking to APP on Friday, the spokesman said that after the approval of the Prime Minister, MNA Mubarak Zeb Khan was nominated as a member of committee to represent the federal government.
AIP is the key initiative of Federal governments to speed up development in the merged tribal districts (formerly FATA), with an allocation of Rs 110 billion for 10 years (Rs 11 billion annually), he said.
He also added that this program focused on bridging the educational gap, addressing issues like poverty, illiteracy, unemployment and ensuring equitable growth and social cohesion.
“The MNA’s inclusion is expected to facilitate more effective coordination and implementation of development initiatives in the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (ex-FATA),” the spokesperson said.
On June 17, 2025, the Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives notified the formation of a Joint Steering Committee under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), following the Prime Minister’s approval conveyed through PMO U.O No. 1299/APM/2025 dated June 5, 2025. The committee also includes members from both the KP and the federal government.
