ISLAMABAD, Dec 2 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday said the Muslim Ummah should unite to achieve peace and prosperity in their countries and work for end of sufferings of the people.
The President stated this while talking to Nobel Peace Laureate, Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman, who along with a delegation called on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.Welcoming Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman and her delegation to Pakistan, the President said that award of Nobel Peace Prize to her was met with a great deal of joy in Pakistan as well.
Tawakkol Karman is a Yemeni journalist and human rights activist. She is a co-recipient of the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the first Yemeni, the first Arab woman, and the second Muslim woman to win a Nobel Prize and the second youngest Nobel
Peace Laureate to date.The President said Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman, one of
the youngest Nobel Prize laureates, was a representative of youth
and women. He termed Tawakkol Karman and Malala Yousafzai as role
models for youth.
The President urged upon the Nobel laureate to speak up for
the oppressed in Palestine, Kashmir, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya and

He said that Pakistan desires peace in Afghanistan and the
region and wants to have friendly relations with all countries
particularly its neighbours.
The President called Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman as the
daughter of Pakistan and wished her and the visiting delegation a
pleasant and fruitful stay in Pakistan.
Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Tawakkol Abdel-Salam Karman
said that she is honoured and overwhelmed by the warmth and
affection shown to her by the government and people of Pakistan and
considers Pakistan as her second home.
