MCI recovers Rs 2 mln from defaulting shopkeepers in a week

ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP): The Administration Directorate of Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) has recovered Rs 2 million in a week from defaulting shopkeepers.
The shopkeers running their businesses in rented shops were not paying the rent to their owners due to certain reasons.
The Directorate of Municipal Administration (DMA) in first phase of its ongoing recovery campaign would made recoveries from the defaulters, while in the second phase licences of the shopkeepers, failing to clear dues, would be cancelled.
Talking to APP, Deputy Director DMA Rana Ali Sufyan said after assuming the charge of Chairman CDA, Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz had introduced massive reforms in the civic body.
He said the mayor made the Coordination Wing vibrant which had
started coordinating with other countries for better development of the capital city.
After activating this wing, he said, coordination among Islamabad and other cities of various countries had improved which would be fruitful for enhancing the cultural, tourism and sports activities.
He said “We are contacting with other countries for further development of the capital city through Coordination Wing”.
Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz had recently hosted a reception in the
honour of delegates participated in International Technical Vocational Education and Training Conference organized in Federal Capital by National Vocational and Technical Training Commission, he added.
he said the reception was attended by the ambassadors of Germany and Tajikistan, diplomats of different countries, participating delegates from the countries including Sri Lanka, Iran, China, Philippines, South Korea, Kazikhstan, United Kingdom and other countries.
According to mayor, such conferences and sessions are not only
result oriented but also contributing towards education and training of the youth.
All play grounds were purely developed for the children and youth of
the federal capital where they could play without paying any charges.
Renting out government grounds were against the law and all such grounds would be retrieved which were under illegal possession and fees were being charged from the residents.
Grounds were developed to provide the playing facilities to residents of the city in their respective sectors so that their talents could be further flourished.
In future grounds would not be given to such people who charged fee so that youth of the city could utilize these grounds freely, he added.
