RAWALPINDI, Jun 27 (APP): Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) Pakistan observed the International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking with a reinvigorated pledge to eliminate the menace of drugs from society.
According to an ANF spokesman, the main ceremony was held at ANF headquarters, Rawalpindi. Among the notable guests were the Country Representative of UNODC, the Director of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, and Drug Liaison Officers (DLOs) from 37 countries, accredited with Pakistan.
In tandem, events commemorating World Drug Day were organised at ANF’s Regional Directorates in Islamabad, Punjab, KP, Sindh, and Balochistan.
The highlight of the event was a graceful wreath-laying ceremony at ANF Yadgar-e-Shuhada.
Participants paid homage to the martyrs, who sacrificed their lives in the fight against narcotics, followed by keynote speeches by the eminent guests.
Unity of all stakeholders and their commitment to a Drug-Free Pakistan were exhibited through a group photograph.
Pakistan remains resolute in its mission to create a drug-free society through actions taken domestically and with international cooperation with partners like UNODC, INL-P, NCA, DEA and other countries.
Pakistan continues to lead with responsibility and vigilance, ensuring that the vision of a Drug-Free World becomes a shared reality.
