ISLAMABAD, May 14 (APP):German Ambassador to Pakistan Bernhard Schlagheck Thursday said that Federal Republic of Germany decided to prolong travel restrictions for entries from outside the Schengen area on until 15th June amid at to contain the outbreak of coronavirus.
Based on the EU recommendations, he said the Germany had introduced travel restrictions for entries from outside the Schengen area on 17th March 2020 and decided on 13th May to prolong these restrictions until 15th June.
All corresponding entries from non-EU-citizens and citizens of non-Schengen states will be affected. Entry would be possible for German citizens, said a press release issued here.
In line with these decisions, the visa sections of the German Embassy Islamabad and of the German Consulate General Karachi remain closed until (provisionally) June 15 and are not accepting any new visa applications.
An exception may be made if the applicant can demonstrate the existence of compelling reasons that justify entry under the current rules. In these cases please contact: visainfo@isla.auswaertiges-amt.de
The aspirants of visa would be informed immediately on this website when this situation changes, he added.
“If you have received an earlier appointment confirmation, the embassy will provide an alternate day as soon as visa operations will return to normal”, he said.
