Prime Minister offers Fateha at Imam Bukhari's mausoleum

SAMARKAND, Nov 18 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Wednesday
offered Fateha at the mausoleum of Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, commonly known as Imam Bukahri.
Born in Bukhara, Imam Bukhari died in 870 and buried some 25 kilometers
from Samarkand.He is known as the most prominent theologian, the Hadith collector and
the author of Sahih al-Bukhari, the second most important book for Muslims after the Holy Quran.
The Prime Minister paid rich tribute to the services of Imam Bukhari to
Islam particularly for the collection of Ahadith.
The tour guide apprised the Prime Minister about Imam Bukhari’s life and
his struggle for the collection of Ahadith.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister said Imam Bukhari was a renowned name
among Muslims and his collection of Ahadith was most authentic.
The Prime Minister als visited the Imam Bukhari complex housing library
and Ahadith trainng centre.
Following Uzbekistan’s independence, on Uzbek President Islam Karimov’s
initiative, a magnificent memorial complex was built comprising a mausoleum, a mosque, a library and a seminary.
The construction of complex involved the best builders and craftsmen of
Samarkand, Tashkent, Bukhara, Khiva, Shakhrisabz, Andijan, Namangan and Kokand.
The complex’s entrance is equipped with a carved gates.
The library and museum in the complex are rich of rare collection of
handwritten and lithographed books on Islamic theology.
