BEIJING, July. 17 (APP):Plump rice grains, full-bodied peppers, fragrant sesames… an endless stream of visitors were full of praise for the dazzling array of agricultural products at the ongoing 2025 China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE).
“Relying on our Modern Agriculture Platform (MAP), we develop and promote a full-process planting solution centered on “good varieties + good products + good methods”, which is also the meaning of the agricultural value chain.,” a staff at Syngenta Group China, told China Economic Net.
Currently, Syngenta MAP is promoting and replicating the full-process technical service of corn yield improvement, which focuses on high-yield and dense corn planting and integrated water and fertilizer precision irrigation, in many places across China. By 2024, MAP services have covered 35 million mu (2.33 million hectares) of arable land, helping farmers increase yields by an average of 8%-15%.
Meanwhile, Syngenta actively promotes the deep integration of the global agricultural value chain. Just as mechanization revolutionized agriculture in the last century, AI and data innovation are reshaping today’s farming methods. The digital agricultural tools launched by Syngenta provide scientific planting decision-making basis for large and small growers around the world, allowing farmers around the world to share the efficiency and convenience brought by technology.
Cropwise, a digital agricultural platform launched by the group overseas, provides farmers with a full range of services including seed selection, field monitoring, agricultural materials and planting plan recommendations, profit analysis, and sustainability assessment, which has been promoted to more than 30 countries around the globe. The Cropwise AI function serves as a super brain that uses the deep agronomic model library in the Cropwise Insight Engine, including more than 20 years of weather history, soil conditions, 80,000 observation data of crop growth stages, and historical yield data from R&D and farm trials. It uses generative AI to easily communicate with farmers in natural language to provide seed selection and planting recommendations.
The reporter learned that according to a United Nations report, the world population may reach 10 billion by 2050, which means that food demand will increase by 50% to 70%. More than that, the global agricultural food system has a significant impact on the environment, accounting for about 22% of greenhouse gas emissions, 70% of fresh water use and 80% of deforestation.
The current transformation of the global agricultural food system is at a crossroads, and it is urgent to build an efficient, stable and green agricultural industry chain and supply chain, said Su Fu, President of Syngenta Group China. “The entire value chain from soil to table is a reflection of all parties continuing to work together to promote high-quality agricultural development.”
