WAPDA Administrative Staff College Islamabad delegation visits PITB to review ICT reforms

LAHORE, Jul 24 (APP):A delegation from WAPDA Administrative Staff College Islamabad (WASC) on Thursday visited the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) to explore ICT-driven reforms implemented across the province, with a special focus on digital initiatives in the education sector.
The delegation was led by Director General (DG) Training and Course Director Sanaullah and Senior Management Instructor & Deputy Course Director Adeeba Aslam. Participants of the 195th Management Course also accompanied them.
During the visit, PITB Director General (DG) IT Solutions Waqar Naeem Qureshi gave a comprehensive briefing on the organization’s initiatives to promote digital governance. He highlighted how PITB is leveraging scalable ICT solutions to improve transparency, operational efficiency, and public service delivery in the government sector.
PITB Director Shahid Akram Khan delivered an in-depth presentation on the Training Management System, explaining how it helps streamline training activities across government departments while enhancing financial transparency.
Meanwhile, PITB Joint Director Sajjad Qureshi briefed the participants on key IT interventions introduced in Punjab’s education sector, aimed at strengthening administrative structures and ensuring more effective educational services.
The delegation also toured PITB’s state-of-the-art Data Center, Punjab Mass Transit Authority, and the e-Khidmat Center, where they were given detailed insights into the infrastructure and day-to-day operations.
In his message, PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf stated, “We are committed to fostering transparency, performance, and citizen-centric service delivery through modern technology. The interest shown by institutions like WAPDA Administrative Staff College is encouraging and reflects growing inter-institutional collaboration. Such visits promote mutual learning and pave the way for stronger cooperation across public sector entities.”
