SIALKOT, Jul 23 (APP):Director Excise and Taxation (E&T) Gujranwala Division Sobia Malik lauded the outstanding performance of the Sialkot Excise and Taxation Office, which collected Rs1.72 billion in revenue during the financial year 2024-25 — achieving more than 116 per cent of the assigned target and marking a 44pc increase compared to the previous fiscal year.
Addressing a commendation ceremony at the E&T Office in Sialkot on Tuesday, Director Malik highlighted that the office collected Rs1.18 billion in the previous financial year. The remarkable additional collection of Rs540 million, she said, was the result of the dedication, expertise, and teamwork under the leadership of ETO Sialkot Tajammul Hussain Naqvi.
During the event, appreciation certificates and shields were awarded to officers, who demonstrated exceptional performance. Among the top performers, Inspector Anas Altaf achieved 121pc of the property tax target, while Inspectors Ashraf Dogar and Shabbir Gujjar attained 157pc in the motor branch. Notably, Inspector Qasim Bhatti surpassed his luxury tax target by an extraordinary 703pc — a record milestone in the department’s history.
Director Malik stated that the achievement is a source of pride not only for Sialkot district but also for the entire Gujranwala division, which secured a top position among all divisions in Punjab. Sialkot district, in particular, emerged as the number one revenue collector in the province.
She praised ETO Naqvi and his team for setting a benchmark of professionalism, institutional excellence, and commitment to public service.
In his closing remarks, ETO Tajammul Naqvi expressed gratitude to the departmental leadership for their support. He reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining high standards of performance, adding that revenue collection would continue to be pursued alongside enhanced public service delivery, transparency, and respect for taxpayers. He reiterated that paying taxes is not only a national duty but also a hallmark of responsible citizenship.
