PESHAWAR, Jul 16 (APP):The Anti-Corruption Establishment of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a major crackdown against illegal constructions and commercial encroachments along the banks of River Swat.
According to details, the Anti-Corruption Department conducted a detailed field survey of illegal encroachments and commercial constructions along the river in Bahrain, Madyan, and other tourist hotspots in Swat. These areas are considered sensitive from an environmental and tourism point of view.
Following the survey, it has been decided to take strict legal action against those responsible, including government departments and officials who allowed or facilitated such encroachments.
Strict action will also be taken under relevant environmental and construction laws.
A report will be sent to the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team, and responsible officers will be held accountable.
The district administration and relevant departments have been informed, and operations to remove illegal constructions will begin soon. The Anti-Corruption Department has vowed to protect public property and natural heritage, and has appealed for public cooperation in this campaign.
