DC chairs meeting on public welfare issues

SIALKOT, Jul 22 (APP): A special meeting of district officers was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Saba Asghar Ali in which reviewed arrangements for the monsoon season, prevention of stray dogs, provision of clean water, elimination of encroachments and other matters of public importance.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Revenue Muhammad Iqbal Sanghera, Assistant Commissioners of all four tehsils and district and local officers of departments concerned. A comprehensive strategy was discussed to deal with the expected impacts of monsoon. DC Saba Asghar Ali directed the institutions concerned to ensure cleanliness of all drains, drains and channels during the rainy season. She also reviewed the ongoing campaign to eradicate stray dogs and directed that the process be made more effective and coordinated so that citizens can be provided with security and peace. Regarding the provision of clean water, the DC said that under the “Saaf Pani Program”, filtration plants are being installed across the district. All Assistant Commissioners were directed to personally visit the proposed locations in their tehsils and install filtration plants wherever needed.
It was also decided that all water treatment plants should be installed only on government land so that their better maintenance and security can be ensured.
The DC also reviewed targets given under the initiatives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif and the progress of their completion at the district level. Regarding the elimination of encroachments, she directed the relevant departments to intensify the campaign and ensure zero encroachments. Instructions were also issued to deploy the para-force for the purpose. In addition, she said that carts and other obstacles disrupting the flow of traffic should be removed immediately. “The provision of public facilities, health and sanitation, traffic flow and availability of clean water are among the top priorities of the district administration, and all institutions should work in coordination and cooperation to achieve these goals,” she added.
