Sargodha, Jul 10 (APP):Commissioner Sargodha Jahanzeb Awan on Thursday ordered for ensuring availability of free medicines for all patients, prohibiting doctors from prescribing branded medicines.
He issued these directions while chairing a meeting here to review the services provided by Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital (FMTH) Sargodha.
The meeting focused on improving hospital facilities, ensuring quality medical care and enhancing patient satisfaction.
The commissioner ordered to conduct mandatory evening rounds by consultants, daily checks on cleanliness, parking fees and air conditioner functionality, install new air conditioners and repair existing ones. He also ordered to improve service delivery and minimise public complaints, ban mobile phone use by doctors and paramedical staff during duty.
Jahanzeb Awan said that the hospital currently has 250 types of medicines in stock, with more being procured, adding that free medicines are provided to 90 per cent of outdoor patients and all indoor patients. He said 750 beds are functional, with 12 more being added. “The hospital treats approximately 56,000 outdoor patients and 25,000 emergency patients daily,” he added.
The commissioner said that show-cause notices had been issued to sanitation companies, canteens, stalls, and cycle stands for poor performance. ” Action is being taken to blacklist under performing contractors,” he added. The meeting also reviewed the administrative and medical affairs of Government Maula Bakhsh Hospital and Government TB Hospital.
The commissioner highlighted the importance of providing quality, timely and clean medical facilities to every patient.
