AJK PM vows to align AJK Bank with present day financial requirements

MUZAFFARABAD, Jul 11 (APP): Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to utilizing all possible resources to modernize the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bank and align it with present day financial requirements.
The Prime Minister said this while addressing the signing ceremony of the agreement between Azad Jammu and Kashmir Bank and Consult Consortium, held here on Friday. Terming modernization of the bank as a significant milestone in the financial sector, he said, “The government will provide all resources for the development of the bank”.He was of the view that the people of Azad Kashmir were eager to seeing this institution ranked amongst the country’s top Banks.The PM further stated that the scope of AJK Bank would be expanded across Azad Kashmir and Pakistan. The government, he said, was determined to secure scheduled bank status for the institution. Speaker Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar while addressing the ceremony expressed satisfaction over the progress of the AJK Bank. He said that the AJK Bank should enhance service delivery and create more facilities for the people of Azad Kashmir. The ceremony was also addressed by Government Minister Abdul Majid Khan. He reiterated the government’s resolve for financial reforms. The President AJK Bank Shahid Shahzad Mir, on the occasion, provided a detailed overview of the Bank’s modernization plans, the aims and objectives of the agreement. He described the Prime Minister as a visionary leader and said that under his leadership, AJK Bank would reach new heights of excellence. The ceremony was attended by Speaker Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Ministers of the Government Syed Bazil Ali Naqvi, Abdul Majid Khan, Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, Pir Muhammad Mazhar Saeed Shah, Chief Secretary Khushal Khan, Former Chief Secretary Usman Chachar, Former Chief Secretary Dawood Muhammad Barich, Secretary Finance Islam Zeb, Secretaries of the Government and senior officials of the Bank. Earlier, President/CEO of AJK Bank Shahid Shahzad Mir and Mr. David Lamb, Yuri Ladek, Shahid Ahmed Khan and Syed Asim Bukhari from iConsult Consortium signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
