ISLAMABAD, Jul 26 (APP):The economic and policy think tank ‘Prosper Pakistan’ led by senior business leaders and industrialists inaugurated in Islamabad aimed to promote ‘Knowledge Economy’ in the country.
At the inaugural meeting of the economic and policy think tank ‘Prosper Pakistan’, the founding members emphasized the issues facing Pakistan’s economy and the promotion of the knowledge economy.
On this occasion, the founding members, while addressing, said that ‘Prosper Pakistan,’ as an economic policy think tank, will play its due role in highlighting the country’s economic challenges, providing policy guidelines for their resolution, and developing the knowledge economy on better lines.
Founding members including business leaders and Industrialists , Muhammad Ali Sheikh, Aoun Ali Syed,Afaq Ayb, Ms Qurat- Ul- Ain, Farukh Alvi ,Rafique Salman,Tauqeer Malik, Shams Abbasi, Amin Ullah Baig, Sakib Rafiq, Umar Masood Ur Rehman, Rana Siddique, Raja Wamik Khan, Nasim Shahid Mughal, Ms Qurat Ul Ain , Khaliq Ahmad Minhas, Syed Hasnain Raza, Sajid Sheikh and Sahiq Ahmed.
President Pakistan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Atif Ikram Sheikh said on the occasion as guest speaker that with the kind of economic challenges our country is facing, “we urgently need a policy think tank like ‘Prosper Pakistan’ which can play the role of a representative of the business community.
“Pakistan currently needs such institutions that can impartially assess the country’s economy and provide policy guidelines to the government so that the atmosphere of bilateral cooperation between the government and the business community can improve”, he added.
President FPCCI said that the country’s economy is currently facing many challenges, from which we need research support and a comparative analysis of the country’s economy with regional economies is important at this time.
Sheikh said that the reason why regional economies are currently ahead of us is due to the importance of research and think tanks.
On this occasion, Vice President of FPCCI and founding member of Prosper Pakistan, Aun Ali Syed, said that the role of research and data science in economies around the world is significant and Prosper Pakistan will play its due role in transforming the country’s economy into a knowledge economy, which will provide advice and policy guidelines to the government as a representative body of the business community.
Senior business leader said that it is important for the youth to come forward to build a modern economy, who have access to modern knowledge and can give the vision of an innovative economy.
He said that human resource capital is also important in a modern economy and by working on it, the country’s economy can be further strengthened.He said that by working on human resource capital in the country, the country’s economy can be made competitive by bringing it into the atmosphere of global competition, which can promote a sustainable economy.
On the occasion senior business leader, Muhammad Ali Sheikh ‘Proper Pakistan’ would work for an inclusive and sustainable economy to mitigate the economic challenges of the country.
Ali Sheikh said that Pakistan’s economy is facing enormous challenges and now the Private sector is pivotal to give policy suggestions for resolving the economic challenge and issues of the Industrial sector in the country.
In meeting Senior business leader, Afaq Ayub give a detailed presentation on the purpose of Proper Pakistan for promoting knowledge economy and bridging the gap between Industries and government institutions.He said that Prosper Pakistan is a non-partisan independent think tank that will provide research oriented policy guidelines to the government and institutions.
Senior business leader, Hina Mansab said on the occasion that “we need to promote women entrepreneur in the country for enhancing inclusive economy in the country.”
Former President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI), Sakib Rafiq said on the occasion that “We need job provider not Job” and also need to promote the entrepreneurial culture for creating job opportunity in the country.”
Senior business leader said that academia Industries linkage must for entrepreneur skills in businesses and said that for this “We need to bridge the gap between these two sides for economic development and prosperity.” He said that for promoting human resources Capital and skills jobs there is need to change the approach of academia to work with the Industrial Sector.
Vice President, FPCCI Qurat ul Ain said that Tourism, Mining and Information Technology are key sectors for a sustainable economy and “we need think tanks like Prosper Pakistan for promoting the “Human Resources” Skills and modern approach in Industries. She said that Pakistan has a grave need for research and analytical approach for a robust and sustainable economy in the country.
On the Occasion, the Group leader of Gwadar Chamber of Commerce said that empirical research and data is important for market research and diversification of trade in any economy. He said that “We need competitiveness and productivity in the Industrial sector for inclusive development in the country.”
