MULTAN, Jul 10 (APP):Federal Minister and Chairman Kashmir Committee Rana Muhammad Qasim Noon has announced a comprehensive plan to upgrade lifestyle and infrastructure in under-developed tehsils of Jalalpur Pirwala and Shujabad, asserting that the long-neglected region would now be firmly on the path to progress.
Addressing a public meeting as part of his reception in Jalalpur Pirwala late Wednesday night that ran into early hours of Thursday, Rana Qasim Noon said, “The mandate I hold today is the result of the trust and support of people of this constituency,” and declared eliminating deprivations in this area was his top priority.
Qasim Noon announced the construction of a link road connecting Jalalpur Interchange, which he said, would reduce travel hardships and provide easier access to Shaher Sultan and adjacent areas.
This road will be a lifeline for commuters and will bring socio-economic benefits to people, he added.
Reaffirming his commitment to promoting education, the minister said that efforts were underway to establish a sub-campus of an engineering university in Jalalpur Pirwala. “Our youth deserve quality education close to home,” he said adding that his struggle for this cause will not stop until it is achieved.
Rana Qasim Noon also declared the completion of the remaining portion of the Jalalpur Pirwala bypass and the reconstruction of the Chenab Bridge, calling both projects critical to boosting local connectivity and trade.
Expressing gratitude to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for entrusting him with the federal portfolio, he said, “This is not just a position of power, but a responsibility to deliver. I assure people of Shujabad and Jalalpur that unprecedented development will take place in both tehsils under this government.”
As Chairman of the Kashmir Committee, Rana Qasim Noon highlighted his role in international advocacy for the Kashmir cause. “Since assuming office, I have made it a point to bring the Kashmir issue to global attention. Today, Pakistan’s stance is receiving international recognition like never before,” he stated, reaffirming that “Kashmir remains and will always be part of our national identity.”
Commenting on recent regional tensions, the federal minister praised Pakistan’s armed forces for their exemplary performance. “During the recent Pakistan-India conflict, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and our brave military decisively countered Indian aggression, dealing a blow to Modi’s arrogance. The entire nation stands proud of our civil-military leadership, which is now earning global praise,” he remarked.
The rally was also addressed by several prominent political and social figures, including Rana Suhail Ahmad Noon, Lal Muhammad Joiya, Qarar Mushtaq Langah, Faiz Rasool Baloch, PML-N City President Mushtaq Baloch, and Rao Abdul Jabbar Advocate, who reaffirmed their full support for the minister’s development vision.
Earlier, a large convoy accompanied the federal minister as he traveled from Shujabad to Jalalpur Pirwala, turning the journey into a vibrant rally. Supporters set up welcome camps along the route, showering Rana Qasim Noon with rose petals and celebratory chants. The overwhelming public response turned the otherwise short journey into a several-hour celebration.
