SARGODHA, Jul 02 (APP):Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council and President National Solidarity Council Hafiz Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi reaffirmed collective commitment of religious scholars to national unity, peace, and the Paigham-e-Pakistan code of conduct during a press conference, held at a private hotel on Wednesday.
He announced that all religious leaders and spiritual figures in Sargodha unanimously endorsed the Paigham-e-Pakistan Charter. He urged clerics, preachers, religious scholars, and general public across the country to strengthen the ongoing atmosphere of unity and religious harmony. “No scholar or speaker has the right to disrespect any sect or its sacred beliefs,” he added. “All must implement and uphold the Paigham-e-Pakistan code without exception,” he stressed.
The Ulema Council chairman called for full cooperation with the law enforcement and administrative authorities at national, provincial, divisional, and district levels, noting the proactive involvement of peace committee members. He also appealed to the media to promote programming that fosters unity and showcases Pakistan as a symbol of strength and cohesion.
Referring to regional tensions, he commended the leadership of prime minister and the military in navigating external threats, including Israeli and Indian hostilities. “Pakistan’s stance in supporting the oppressed in Palestine and Kashmir is commendable,” he stated. “The international defeat of Israeli aggression is a victory for the Muslim Ummah.” Ashrafi stressed that the current unity in the Muslim world must be preserved and further strengthened. He urged social media users to avoid forwarding unverified content, warning against misinformation.
