PESHAWAR, Jul 24 (APP):A delegation of scholars from the Wafaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan on Thursday met with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Saleem Jan here and expressed deep sorrow over the recent tragic incident in Chaliyar, Khwazakhela, and publicly distanced themselves from the perpetrator of the crime.
The delegation included provincial leader of Wafaq-ul-Madaris, Maulana Hussain Ahmad, Deputy Leader Maulana Qari Muhibullah, Executive Member Maulana Muhammad Tahir, Maulana Hujjatullah, Qari Fatahullah, Maulana Hafeez-ur-Rehman, and other respected scholars.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, Maulana Hussain Ahmad condemned the incident, stating that the entire ulema community, the people of Swat, and every conscientious citizen are deeply grieved.
He expressed full solidarity with the family of the deceased child and strongly condemned the heinous act, clarifying that the culprit has no association or support from the religious institutions.
He emphasized the positive and constructive role of registered religious seminaries and Wafaq-ul-Madaris in promoting Islamic education and moral reform.
He regretted that the actions of a single individual have cast a negative shadow over all seminaries, which is deeply concerning.
The scholars demanded the immediate arrest and strict punishment of all those involved in the crime.
They assured full cooperation with the police and authorities, announcing the formation of a representative committee of scholars to maintain regular contact with government institutions and support the investigation.
DC Saleem Jan appreciated the scholars’ concerns and acknowledged the valuable role of religious seminaries in moral and educational development.
He urged parents to thoroughly inquire about the administration and environment of seminaries before enrolling their children and to stay engaged with their children about their experiences.
The meeting concluded with a collective prayer for peace, safety and national unity and the DC thanked the ulema for their commitment to social harmony.
