LAHORE, Jul 30 (APP):Lahore Divisional Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood chaired a meeting of the Divisional Development Working Committee to review and approve development schemes submitted by various departments, here on Wednesday.
A total of 18 development schemes were presented during the session, including those from the Local Government and Community Development Department, the Road Sector, the Public Buildings Sector, and the Urban Development Sector and Lahore Development Authority (LDA).
The Commissioner conducted a thorough review of all schemes and emphasized the importance of ensuring that each project complies with all standard operating procedures, meets required quality standards, and is completed within its approved timeline and deadline. He stressed that public development must reflect transparency, accountability, and timely execution.
Out of the 18 schemes under consideration, the committee approved 14 while deferring 4 for further review. The deferred schemes included two from the Local Government Department, one from the Highway/Road Sector, and one from the LDA.
Commissioner Zaid bin Maqsood reiterated that the success of development projects depends on strict adherence to procedural and technical requirements. He warned that no negligence will be tolerated in either the planning or execution phases, and departments must ensure full compliance with guidelines.
The Commissioner appreciated the efforts of participating departments and called for follow-up action to resolve issues related to the deferred schemes, ensuring that all approved projects proceed without delay.
The meeting was attended by Director Development Lahore Division Javed Rasheed Chauhan, Deputy Director Muhammad Tayyab, Assistant Director Hafiz Muhammad Iqbal, along with other development officers of the Lahore Division.
