Widespread rain with isolated heavy falls likely

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (APP): Widespread rain/dust-thundershower
with isolated heavy falls accompanied by strong gusty winds is
expected in most parts of the country during next 24 hours.

Downpour is likely in Sibbi, Makran, Kalat, Nasirabad,
Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore, Faisalabad, Sahiwal
divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir, while at scattered places in
Sindh, south Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur, D.G Khan divisions),
Quetta, Zhob divisions, KP, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan with its trough
extending southeastwards. Monsoon currents are penetrating over
country and likely to continue during next couple of days. A
westerly wave is likely to approach western parts of the country
tonight and likely to persist during next 2-3 days, an official of
Met office told APP.

In last 24 hours weather remained hot and dry in most parts of
the country. However, rain/dust-thundershower occurred at isolated
places in Sargodha, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Malakand, Quetta
divisions, Islamabad, FATA and Kashmir.

Rainfall recorded during time span remained Parachinar 50mm,
Dir 02mm, Sargodha (PAF 56mm, City 24mm), Chakwal 16mm, Islamabad (Saidpur 06mm), Mandibahauddin 12mm, Kotli 04mm and Barkhan 01mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded on Monday were Bhakkar ,
Bahawalnagar 46øC, Noorpurthal, Dadu 45øC, Islamabad 38øC, Lahore
38øC, Karachi 42øC, Peshawar 41øC, Quetta 36øC, Gilgit 38øC,
Chitral 36øC, Hunza 28øC, Muzaffarabad 39øC, Murree 27øC, Skardu
34øC, Faisalabad 43øC, Multan 43øC, Hyderabad 39øC, Dir 35øC and
Kalat 30øC.
