Rains, snowfall expected in upper parts, quake-hit areas

ISLAMABAD, Oct 30 (APP): Met office forecast more rain with snowfall
over hills in upper parts, particularly in earthquake effected areas of
the country during coming week.
Spokesman Met Office informed that a westerly wave is heading towards
Pakistan and it is likely to approach upper parts of the country on Sunday
evening. Under the influence of this weather system rain/thunderstorm is
expected at scattered places of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir and at isolated places of Zhob, Quetta, Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions and Islamabad during Monday to Wednesday.
Snowfall is also expected over the hills of Malakand, Hazara
divisions, GB and Kashmir during the period.
According to daily weather report, dry weather is expected in
most parts of the country with cold continue gripping earthquake
affected areas of Khaber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan during
next 24 hours.
Met office reported that continental air is prevailing over
most parts of the country during this time span.
Weather remained dry in most parts of the country during
last 24 hours.Lowest temperatures recorded on Friday was Malamjabba,
Skardu -02øC, Astore 00øC. Islamabad 10øC, Lahore 15øC, Karachi 20øC,
Peshawar 10øC, Quetta 04øC, Gilgit 02øC, Hunza 01øC , Muzaffarabad 09øC,
Murree 08øC, Skardu -02øC, Faisalabad 15øC, Multan 16øC,
Hyderabad 19øC and Kalat 01øC.
Pollen count was 16 per m3 of air during this time period.
