Rain-thunderstorm expected at scattered places in upper region

ISLAMABAD, June 13, (APP): Rain-thundershower with gusty winds
is expected at scattered places in upper region of the country while
mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country.

Rainfall is likely at Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Faisalabad, divisions, Hazara division, Islamabad and Kashmir whereas at isolated places in upper Khaber Pakhtunkhwa at Malakand, Kohat, Peshawar, Mardan divisions, FATA and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Seasonal low lies over North Balochistan and its adjoining areas. Weak moist currents from Arabian sea are penetrating in upper/eastern parts of the country and likely to continue during next 36-48 hours. A shallow westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and its adjoining areas, an official of Met office told APP.

In last 24 hours weather remained hot and humid in most parts of the country. However, dust-thunderstorm/rain occurred at isolated places in Hazara, Peshawar, Dera Gazi Khan, Sargodha, Rawalpindi divisions, FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.

Rainfall recorded during last 24 hours remained Joharabad 33mm, D.G khan 17mm, Chakwal 10mm, Sargodha 06mm, Kot Addu, Islamabad, Rawalpindi 02mm, Mangla 01mm, Malamjabba 12mm, Cherat 10mm, Parachinar 06mm, Garidupatta 01mm and Gilgit 01mm.

Maximum temperatures recorded during this time span remained Dalabndin, Nokkundi 47øC, Padidan, Shaheed Benazirabad 46øC, Dadu, Sukkur, Larkana, Sibbi 45øC, Islamabad 39øC, Lahore 42øC, Karachi 35øC, Peshawar 40øC, Quetta 38øC, Gilgit 35øC, Chitral 35øC, Hunza 29øC, Muzaffarabad 36øC, Murree 27øC, Skardu 33øC, Faisalabad 41øC, Multan 40øC, Hyderabad 38øC, Dir 33øC and Kalat 34øC.
